Today we hosted the Wrens group monthly meeting.

We were joined by Peta Edwards who gave a talk on the Canary Girls and the importance of the Yellow Poppy for Remembrance Day.

The story of the Canary Girls is not well known and Peta goes around giving talks to community groups and schools etc. They are raising awareness and funds towards a monument to represent the Canary Girls so they will not be forgotten.

We will be setting a date to crochet poppies for the canary girls very soon.
