Croft Parish Council is aware that Peel Land has begun a public consultation on proposals for up to 200 new homes on land north of Lord Street, Croft.
The Parish Council first received formal notification of the proposals at approximately 5:00pm on Thursday 21st May 2026, when Peel Land contacted the Council directly and offered a virtual briefing with members of the project team.
At the present time, no planning application has yet been submitted to Warrington Borough Council.
The current stage is a developer-led public consultation which is due to run until 10th June 2026.
We fully appreciate that news of a potential development of this scale will generate strong feelings and significant concern within the community.
Croft Parish Council wants residents to know that we will stand alongside our community throughout this process and ensure local views are heard clearly and respectfully.
As a Parish Council, we will continue to examine all information made available to us carefully and responsibly. We are already aware of concerns being raised relating to highways and traffic, pressure on infrastructure and services, drainage and flooding, impact on the rural identity of the village, and the cumulative effect of continued development across surrounding areas.
The consultation documents reference increased Government housing targets, changes to national planning policy and the introduction of βGrey Beltβ land classifications. These are matters the Parish Council will also be seeking to fully understand as part of any future discussions.
Most importantly, we strongly encourage residents to engage directly with the consultation process and make their views known. Whether you support, oppose or simply wish to raise questions, it is important that local voices are heard at this early stage.
