⚠️ Roadworks Update – A338 Newbury Street, Wantage ⚠️

Residents are advised that the planned resurfacing works on A338 Newbury Street, scheduled for 8–9 June, have been postponed by the contractor.

The postponement is due to mechanical and material issues affecting previous works, which have caused delays to the programme.

The resurfacing scheme is expected to be rescheduled for early October, although final dates have not yet been confirmed.

Further updates will be provided once new dates are announced.

Wantage was delighted to welcome visitors from our twin town of Seesen, Germany, for a recent civic visit. The delegation included Seesen's Bürgermeister (Mayor), Erik Homann, along with other representatives from the town.

During their stay, our guests enjoyed a programme of visits showcasing some of the highlights of the local area, including a tour of Diamond Light Source at Harwell and a visit to Hook Norton Brewery. The brewery proved particularly interesting, as it still houses historic malt-processing equipment manufactured by Nalder & Nalder of Wantage.

The visit provided a wonderful opportunity to strengthen the long-standing friendship between our two towns, and we look forward to continuing this valued partnership in the future.

📣 Wantage & Grove NHPT 📣

It’s that time again… can you believe a whole year has passed since our last community survey? ⏳
A lot has changed since then (some of us have definitely aged more than we’d like 😅), so we thought—why not do it all over again?

This time, we really want to hear from everyone… yes, even the cynical ones 👀
Don’t worry—we see you in the comments 😂 and this is your moment!

🌍 Our patch is a big one — from East Challow to Blewbury, and the Ridgeway to Steventon.
That’s a lot of voices, and we want to hear them all.

Last year you shared your top 3 priorities, and we’ve been working on them (sometimes at a steady pace… sometimes at a slightly more “tortoise” pace 🐢).

We know policing isn’t perfect, and we know there’s always work to do. While we can’t speak for everywhere, we can focus on making a difference right here in our communities 💙

So go on… tell us:
✅ What’s been bothering you?
✅ What should we be tackling next?
✅ And what are we getting right? (Go on, humour us 😄)

💻 : https://orlo.uk/qt0oA
Survey Ends: 30th June 2026

Constructive thoughts are very welcome — bonus points if you can make us laugh while you’re at it!

Let’s work together to make our area the best it can be 💙
