Backing from Saffron Walden Tourist Information Centre for SAFFRON WALDEN’s Town of Culture 2028 bid

Saffron Walden Town Council (SWTC) confirmed the town’s ‘Town of Culture 2028’ bid was submitted on 27 March 2026, following the launch 25 February 2026 with a community photograph.

Saffron Walden Tourist Information Centre is delighted to support the bid for Saffron Walden to become Town of Culture 2028. Our town has a rich cultural heritage, a thriving creative community, and a year round programme of arts, music, history, and community events that bring people together and attract visitors from across the region. We believe this bid is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate everything that makes Saffron Walden such a special town.

SWTC is delighted with the words of support received so far from the community, including; event partners, charities, local organisation, residents and businesses. A spokesperson for SWTC said, “thank you for everyone’s support so far – please continue to back Saffron Walden’s bid in becoming Town of Culture 2028.”
