"Tell me you love your job without telling me! X"

Not long ago, Faye worked a typical 9-5 office job while also dedicating her Mondays to part-time work with Continuity, supporting Ellie. Those Mondays quickly became the best part of her week.

In 2025, she decided to leave the office behind and join us full-time. Since then, we've worked with Faye to fund her training in complex care, and she has become a familiar, trusted face for three more families. If you’re sitting at a desk right now, questioning if there’s a more fulfilling job out there, you don’t have to make a drastic change overnight. Take a leaf out of Faye's book and start with a Monday, who knows where it might lead?

We’re hiring across Kent, and you can find our open vacancies here: https://f.mtr.cool/kddsebmqua

Our approach focuses on person-centred care by matching staff with families according to personality and shared interests. If no current vacancy fits you but you believe you'd excel in this career, feel free to contact us. The next role we recruit for could be an ideal match for you and that family!

Should home care ever mean hiding who you are?

For too many older LGBTQ+ people, the answer is yes.

There are over 1 million older LGBTQ+ people in the UK, but research shows many still feel anxious about letting care workers into their homes. After a lifetime of discrimination, some feel they have to tuck away photos, move books, or avoid talking about the people they love, all to feel safer from judgement.

This Pride month, and every month, our promise is that your home remains your safe space. It will remain a place where your identity isn't just accepted but cherished, always.

Everyone deserves care that understands their story, respects their relationships, and affirms WHO they are, not just what they need help with. Whoever you are and whoever you love, we promise you will be cared for with warmth, dignity, and absolute respect 💜

Sunday's trip to Wildwood was entirely directed by Chloe, who stole Shayna’s phone and appointed herself head of PR 😎

As chief photographer, Chloe made sure to capture the real stars of the day, giving the local wildlife some very specific staff promotions. Head Carer Naomi has officially been recast as a furry manager running team hop-rations, while Shayna was immortalised as a ginger chicken who clearly rules the roost.

Huge thanks to Chloe for the best camera roll updates so far this summer, and to Shayna for sharing the content with us when she eventually got her phone back!💜

Some words you don't realise you needed until you say them out loud. Nikki, our Senior Clinical Manager, in-house bookworm and unofficial walking dictionary, has dropped this week's offering on the whiteboard!

Word of the week: Profundity
The definition: Great depth of thought, feeling or meaning.

This aligns with quality care. Often it's subtle, but there's great depth of meaning in being present with someone without haste, in important routines, and in observing what others might overlook. It's rarely loud, but it always matters.

Got a word you've fallen for recently? Drop it in the comments (Nikki's collecting) 📚

By the time you're noticing, something has already changed. Small things, but the kind of things you notice because you know them.

- Tablets still in Monday's slot on a Wednesday
- Holding the bannister with both hands now
- Cancelling things they used to look forward to
- Curtains still drawn at lunchtime
- You, checking your phone before you've even sat down

Most people don't know what to say when they ring. That's fine. We'll work out where to start.

When we talk about "taking action" for our mental health, it can accidentally sound like a lot of hard work. And when you’re already running on empty, that's the last thing you need.

For Mental Health Awareness Week 2026, we’re focusing on the micro-actions 🧠

These 9 small, research-backed habits aren't about overhauling your routine. They can help you find tiny pockets of relief in the middle of a busy day, whether you choose to step away from screens for half an hour, just ten minutes, or use that screen to reach out to a friend ☕️🌿

What's your go-to micro-habit for resetting on a busy day? Let us know below! 👇

It's International Nurses Day 🩺

At 92%, nurses are officially the most trusted profession in the UK. We get to work alongside some of the best right here in Kent, and we see exactly why that number is so high.

Thank you for everything you do 💜

How would you define freedom?

For the people we support, it often means having the ability to choose their own path. This video, taken by our care manager Hani during Restwell Retreats Open Day, perfectly illustrates that sense of autonomy.

Enabling this kind of independence is a rewarding challenge. If you have been thinking about a career change that lets you help others find their path, we would love to talk to you about joining our team.

Share this post if you believe everyone deserves the right to explore! 💜

It has been a busy week for everyone in the care sector! Between the bank holiday weekend and making the most of the summer sun, we know everyone has been working hard to keep things moving ☀️

We couldn't let the week pass without a little light relief from the office. It's become a bit of a running joke here that our Senior Clinical Manager, Nikki, is a massive bookworm with a vocabulary that puts us all to shame. We thought we’d share her latest pick with our community.

Word of the week: Intransigent
The definition: Refusing to agree or compromise; being firm and inflexible in your views.

Did you learn a new word today? Drop a 💡 in the comments if this one is new to you!

We are reaching out to our network today because we are looking for a very specific person for a very unique role in Ramsgate. We are asking for a rare combination of skills, but we know the right match is out there.

We need a Complex Care Assistant to support a brilliant and sociable 18-year-old man. He loves swimming, bowling, taking the bus and train, and relaxing at home with sensory activities. He lives with Autism, Treacher Collins Syndrome, and learning disabilities. He is also profoundly deaf and non-verbal, communicating primarily through British Sign Language (BSL).

To support him safely and help him maintain his independence, we need someone who is experienced in care, calm under pressure, and highly consistent. The role involves Tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, and supporting him through moments when he might feel overwhelmed. A full UK driving licence is essential to help him safely access the community.

We know this is a highly specific list of requirements. However, if you have the care experience and a genuinely patient approach but do not yet know BSL, we will fully fund your BSL training.

The Details:
• Hours: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm
• Location: Ramsgate, Kent
• Pay: £15.62 to £17.52 per hour

If this role is not for you, please consider sharing this post. A simple share to your page or to someone you know could help us reach the exact right person to support this young man.

If this does sound like you, please send us a direct message or click the link in our bio to apply.

(Please note: Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK)
