Have your child's car seat checked free of charge at South Hawksworth Street, Ilkley, LS29 9DX on Thursday 10th September between 11 am and 4 pm.

Getting your child’s car seat checked takes just a few minutes. It’s a great opportunity for parents and carers to speak to an expert and make sure their children are travelling safely.

Trained staff will check that the seat is fitted correctly and meets safety requirements. They'll also offer guidance and make any necessary adjustments in a friendly, supportive environment.

No appointment is needed - simply turn up to one of the events taking place across the county.

The events are organised by Vision Zero - West Yorkshire and delivered by Good Egg Safety CIC.

By law, children must use a child car seat until they are 12 years old or 135 centimetres tall, whichever comes first.

During some targeted patrols in the Heaton area of West Yorkshire Police - Bradford West this BMW was stopped. A few short enquiries later, we were able to establish that the driver was disqualified from holding a licence and uninsured.

Vehicle seized and driver reported to court.

Whilst patrolling Leeds Road West Yorkshire Police - Bradford East this Volkswagen caught our eye. Roadside enquiries proved our spidey senses right once again as the insurance policy produced was found to be false.

Vehicle seized and driver reported to court.

A member of the public saw this Sur-ron Light Bee cutting through Eccleshill Recreation Ground West Yorkshire Police - Bradford East and was able to name one of the two people on it.

Fortunately, we had a foe in common... and we knew where he lived.

Using our powers of entry under s.59 Police Reform Act, we found the named person and the bike in their back garden. Bike seized.

This Ridstar Q20 e-bike was seen being ridden at speed without pedalling across Norfolk Gardens in West Yorkshire Police - Bradford City before we stopped it in City Park.

The maximum reading on the speedometer using the throttle alone was 37mph, far in excess of the 3.7mph (6kph) permitted under EAPC Regulations, making this e-bike a motor vehicle and subject to the usual requirements.

Rider reported for no licence and no insurance, and vehicle seized under s.165 Road Traffic Act.

It's been a while since we last played hide and seek, but this incident proved we've still got the skills. The driver of this TOYOTA tried his best, bless him, to mix some evasive turns into his journey to throw us off the scent but he was no match for us. When we brought him to a stop on Thornton Road West Yorkshire Police - Bradford West the reasons were all too clear... No insurance.

This Volkswagen failed to stop for us in the Allerton area of West Yorkshire Police - Bradford West. With the assistance of the community, along with other enquiries, we subsequently located it nearby from where it was recovered. Enquiries remain ongoing to identify the driver.

The hapless rider of this Honda was spotted on Stanage Lane, just across the border into West Yorkshire Police - Calderdale Valleys whilst we were working in the West Yorkshire Police - Bradford South area. In a ridiculous turn of events, on seeing us he tried to dismount at roughly 30 mph, sort of running himself over before running into a wall a little more forcefully than he probably intended. As the saying goes, where there's no sense there's no feeling and this was obviously the case as the rider made off on his toes, hopefully to have a darn good think about what he's done.

In the meantime, the bike was seized.

During proactive patrols in West Yorkshire Police - Bradford West area we stopped this Kia on Allerton Road. Nothing piques our interest more than someone immediately getting out and running off so something told us this wouldn't be a routine document check.

Sure enough, 3 stop searches and a drug wipe later we were taking the driver down to the cells to complete the drug drive procedure and the vehicle, owned by Motability Scheme, was seized under S.165 Road Traffic Act.

During some patrols of West Yorkshire Police - Bradford City area we sighted this BMW on Leeds Road driving in a manner that caught our attention, hanging back to leave a gap before accelerating hard to catch up with the car in front. We saw this happen three times before deciding enough was enough. On speaking with the driver, the matter of insurance reared its head. After going around the proverbial houses for a while, no legitimate insurance policy could be identified. Driver reported to court for no insurance and driving without due care & attention, and vehicle seized.
