At the close of Volunteers' Week, we are proud to reflect on the many cadet forces adult volunteers (CFAV) we have within Wales and West Region.
Our Region goes up as far North as Biddulph, to the East in Burton on Trent, South in Ross on Wye and the West in Aberystwyth and we have many dedicated adult volunteers, from all walks of life, giving up their time to ensure our Air Cadets are given the best that there is to offer within the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.
Our CFAVs take on roles as Civilian Committee members, Civilian Instructors and uniformed staff (both non-commissioned and commissioned). We also have padres as adult volunteers. The daily work life roles of our adult volunteers varies considerably, however, the dedication to a volunteer role is second to none.
Our adult volunteers do a great many things for us and their roles don't necessarily define their skill, it is the passion for delivering the best cadet experience they can. It can be adventure training, flying or gliding, cyber, space, radio, first aid, fieldcraft or road marching, as well as being involved in local squadron activity, which can range from drill and banner practice to air and space related training.
It's good there is a week to make us focus on the people who give up their time to ensure the next generation, the future, is being offered the best support, guidance and training, although we appreciate and value our adult volunteers every day.
The adult volunteers with Wales and West Region roles are SME's (subject matter experts) within their field of expertise and we feature some of them in our reel.
If you are reading this and are not an adult volunteer with the RAF Air Cadets, seek out one of us and hear for yourself why we are so dedicated to what we do. We always have room for more like-minded people. You never know, you might love it (as we do)!
