Recognising outstanding teamwork 👏

While working on Project Poseidon, members of our team responded to a serious welfare incident involving a vulnerable young person in crisis.

Acting quickly, calmly and professionally, the team assisted in keeping the individual safe until emergency services arrived. Their actions demonstrated exceptional teamwork, compassion and a commitment to protecting others beyond the scope of their day-to-day responsibilities.

We would like to recognise Richard Newbold, Callum Newbold, Neil Biddle and Steve Turnpenny, for their professionalism and outstanding response in a difficult situation.

We are proud to have people like this representing our organisation 💙

Logan is jumping out of a plane... for charity! 🪂

As part of a social value project, we've challenged our apprentices to raise £6,000 for the Game Change Project, an incredible charity that supports young adults with additional needs into employment.

Up first is Logan, who is bravely taking on a skydive on 19th September with a fundraising target of £1,000! 🙌

We're delighted to welcome Will Townsend to the Doocey Group team!

Will joins us with a strong passion for developing people and creating the conditions for employees and leaders to thrive. His initial focus will be on strengthening our appraisal process, ensuring every employee benefits from a high-quality development conversation and has clear goals and objectives for the year ahead. He will also be reviewing and enhancing our probation process to help ensure new starters experience a supportive and engaging onboarding journey from day one.

Looking ahead, Will will play a key role in developing leadership capability across the business, helping to equip our managers and leaders with the skills and confidence to support their teams and meet the challenges of our industry.

Himley Road HV Upgrade ⚡

Our teams have been progressing ahead of program on Himley Road, with 550m of cable route excavated and reinstated to date, all completed under traffic management.

The project involves the renewal of 1,744m HV cable as part of a network reinforcement scheme from Himley road to Dibdale Road West.

This HV network upgrade will improve capacity, reliability and resilience, helping to support current demand and future growth while ensuring local residents and businesses continue to receive a secure and dependable electricity supply. 🏘️

Successful raw water main repair for On Site on behalf of South Staffs Water

Our team recently completed a complex repair on a 36-inch steel raw water main. The works involved the excavation of a 10m x 10m working area to a depth of 4 metres, with a stepped excavation implemented to ensure safe access and egress throughout the project. Working alongside OnSite Central Limited/ South Staffs Water's, the leak was controlled before a steel plate repair was welded into place.💧

One of the key achievements of the project was completing the repair without isolating the main, ensuring that operations at Seedy Mill Water Treatment Works and Pumping Station remained unaffected. At a time of increased demand, this helped maintain network resilience and avoided the need to reduce pumping volumes.

A great example of effective planning, safe delivery and collaborative working to protect critical water infrastructure. ✅

Supporting our local communities is at the heart of what we do 🙌

Recently, we donated traffic management equipment, including cones & signs and as well as some PPE, to Toll End Youth Centre run by Great Bridge Parents Support Network's holiday playscheme.

For over 30 years, the playscheme has provided affordable holiday childcare for local families, creating opportunities for children to learn, play and grow through creative activities.

It's been fantastic to see our donated equipment given a second life, with children using it to create roadworks, construction zones and workplaces, inspiring imaginative role-play while developing creativity, teamwork and road safety awareness.👷‍♂️

What was surplus equipment to us has become a valued resource for hundreds of local children, proving that even a small donation can make a big difference.

A huge thank you to Sian Harford and the team for the incredible work they do in our community!
