Due to continued growth and a busy project pipeline, Doocey Group are looking to add an experienced Vacuum Excavator Driver to the team.

If you’re looking for consistent work on key infrastructure projects and want to be part of a hardworking, reliable crew, this could be the perfect opportunity.

Requirements:
• CPCS A78 Vacuum Excavator Operator ticket
• Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence
• Ability to commute to Tipton on a daily basis
• Immediate availability preferred

Doocey Group Open Day 2026 🙌

Across the day, we were proud to welcome around 450 attendees, with 243 people registering with Sandwell Council and 180 signing up with Sandwell College for the pre-apprenticeship programme…Fantastic outcomes for those looking to take their first steps in the Utility industry.

A standout highlight from the day was the level of engagement across generations, with 60 registered attendees aged 19+, our highest-ever adult registration! Alongside an impressive 120 registered 16-18 year olds exploring future opportunities in the industry.

It was great to see so many people actively exploring careers in the sector. The strong interest across all pathways highlights the growing enthusiasm for the industry and the opportunities available. 📈

We’re incredibly proud of everyone involved in making the day such a success and grateful to all who attended. A big shoutout to our current and graduated apprentices who played a key role in leading demonstrations and showcasing their skills. 💙

We now look forward to welcoming the next generation into the industry. 👏

Strong communication builds strong teams.

Distributed both physically and electronically, the newsletter is another way we keep communication open and recognise the people and achievements that make Doocey Group what it is. 🙌

Following a recent road traffic collision involving a member of the public near one of our worksites, our operatives were able to provide first aid and CPR while waiting for the emergency services to arrive.

At Doocey, Home Safe, Every Day, Everyone is more than a slogan, it underpins how we train, plan and act every day.

First Aid is a mandated qualification for all operatives, and we continue to invest in high quality training so our teams are equipped to look after themselves, their colleagues, and others when needed, including friends, families, and the wider public.

We’re proud to share a fantastic accolade received via Worcestershire County Council following planned works delivered on behalf of NGED 👏

The feedback highlighted the high standard of excavation, reinstatement and the care taken to keep the area safe and tidy throughout, with surfaces tarmacked to an excellent finish.

A big congratulations to Neil Hadlington, Simon Hadlington, Carl Taylor, Adam Colin’s and Tony Fewkes for their hard work and professionalism on this scheme, a great reflection of the standards we strive for at Doocey Group.

We’re proud to welcome three new apprentices to Doocey Group 👏

After their apprenticeship programme unexpectedly came to an end, they were left in a difficult and uncertain position partway through their development. We acted quickly to ensure they could continue their journey without disruption.

At Doocey Group, we believe everyone deserves a fair opportunity to learn and succeed, whatever challenges arise. With a 95.9% apprentice retention rate, we’re confident they’ll go on to build successful careers with us.

We’re looking forward to being part of their journey 🚧

💚 Wear it Green Day 💚

Yesterday we got involved in Wear It Green Day for Mental Health Awareness Week, great to see everyone getting stuck in and showing their support.

It’s a simple thing, but it all helps get people talking and checking in with each other, which is what it’s all about 💬

All donations raised are going to Black Country Mental Health to support the amazing work they do locally.

This week, for Mental Health Week, we’re taking action by making time to step away together, heading out on site to operatives for a brew and a catch-up ☕️

It’s something we already value, but this week is a great reminder that looking after our mental health doesn’t have to be big gestures…it can be as simple as taking a break, checking in and making space for conversation.

Small actions, taken regularly, can make a big difference 💬🧠

This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week theme is Action and at Doocey Group, action is something we take seriously all year round.

We’re proud to have over 50 trained Mental Health First Aiders across our sites and offices. These colleagues are here to take action by offering support, listening without judgement and helping signpost anyone who may be struggling.

Our commitment is simple: a workplace where mental health is supported and action is always encouraged, checking in, speaking up, offering support, and making wellbeing a daily priority.
