Starting secondary school is a big milestone, and The Big Step is designed to help our new Year 7 students make the transition with confidence.

Over the programme, students will have the opportunity to:
✅ Make new friends
✅ Become familiar with Bishop Fox's School

🧪🔬 Last week, 115 of our Year 10 students visited Richard Huish College for an A Level Science Taster Morning.

Students took part in a range of exciting sessions including Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Environmental Science and Psychology, giving them a real insight into studying science beyond GCSE.

From investigating the best ways to clear up oil spills and synthesising benzoic acid, to modelling earthquake S and P waves and exploring the psychology of Stranger Things, there was plenty to inspire curious minds!

Our students were praised by Huish staff for their excellent behaviour, enthusiasm and willingness to participate – a real credit to Bishop Fox's School.

A huge thank you to Richard Huish College for hosting such an engaging and informative event. We hope it has inspired the next generation of scientists! 👏

🌟 The Big Step is back this summer! 🌟

Starting secondary school is an exciting milestone, but we know it can also feel a little daunting.

That's why we're delighted to be running The Big Step again this August – a fun and supportive programme designed to help our new Year 7 students feel confident, make new friends and become familiar with life at Bishop Fox's School before September.

🎭 Today, a group of Bishop Fox's students enjoyed a trip to Bristol to watch the award-winning musical Matilda at the Hippodrome.

🦁⚽ The World Cup has arrived in Taunton – with a creative twist!

We're incredibly proud of our Art students, who have designed and painted 10 lions for this year's Taunton Lion Trail. Each lion represents a nation taking part in the World Cup, with Bishop Fox's students creating lions for Austria, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, New Zealand, Qatar, Spain and Switzerland.

The town-wide trail features 48 lions created by young artists from across the region and can be explored throughout the summer until 14 August. Displayed in businesses and venues across Taunton, the lions celebrate creativity, community and the spirit of international football.

Why not pick up a trail map and see how many you can find? You might even spot one of our students' fantastic designs!

Trail maps are available from Taunton Library, Taunton Visitor Centre and GoCreate Gallery in the Orchard Centre, or online via Taunton Town FC.

A huge congratulations to all the students and staff involved in this wonderful project.

Bishop Fox's School is seeking a Catering Assistant (Baker) to join our friendly and hardworking catering team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys baking and would take pride in preparing and decorating around 200 cakes each morning for our students and staff.

📍 Term-time only
⏰ 30 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
🥐 Friendly school environment
🎂 Dedicated baking role

If you have a passion for baking and would like to be part of a team that helps make a positive difference to students every day, we'd love to hear from you.

A huge congratulations to the 31 Year 10 students who successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh Silver Expedition on Exmoor over three days this weekend!

Throughout the challenge, students demonstrated resilience, teamwork and determination, navigating the beautiful but demanding Exmoor landscape.

We are incredibly proud of their achievement and the way they represented Bishop Fox's School.

Well done, everyone! 👏🥾🏕️
