We are excited that Rowan will be standing in the upcoming Taunton Town Council by-election in Pyrland. ๐ณ๏ธ
Rowan is out year-round for the community and he is determined to get things done. โก
Polling day is on 7 May. ๐๏ธ
Good afternoon everyone! I just wanted to take the time to introduce myself - Rowan Thorne - as the Labour Party candidate for the upcoming by-election for Pyrland.
Pyrland and the surrounding Priorswood area is a great place to live, having lived in the area and with family still living in Pyrland, it is great to be part of this fantastic community.
Spending so much of my time in Pyrland, be it walking through to go to the gym on a Sunday morning, visiting family throughout the week or being out and about speaking to residents, I know this is a fantastic place to live, but I still believe it can be so much more! Our community can really thrive with the right energy and individual to lead the way and stand up for our community.
As usual, I will be out and about talking to residents and meeting people over the next few weeks (along with reporting more potholes), please feel free to come and chat. In the meantime, here are some of my priorities:
๐ฏ Clean up and replace the dilapidated bus stops on Dorchester and Ladymead Road - along with improving our bus services.
๐ฏ Fight to get road resurfacing done on Cheddon Rd, Dorchester Rd and Blackdown Rd.
๐ฏ Newer street signs across Pyrland.
๐ฏ Fix the CCTV at Priorswood shops to make our streets safer and deter poor behaviour.
๐ฏ Bring back Youth Services for our young people, providing opportunity for all.
๐ถโโ๏ธFinally, if elected, I commit to monthly "Ward Walks" where I'll be coming to meet residents and keep on top of issues in our community.
