🌳 Fly-Tipping Alert: Oakhurst Way / Redhouse Open Space🌳
We are sad to report a large fly-tipping incident in our community. Two large vehicle loads of green waste have been dumped right among the fruit trees in the Oakhurst Way/Redhouse open space.
This is not a victimless crime. Cleaning up this mess costs the taxpayer roughly £140 per load. That is money taken away from other vital local services.

👥 How You Can Help
Did you see anything? We need the community to act as our eyes and ears.
If you saw any suspicious vehicles, large vans, or people unloading green waste in this area, please report it right away. Any detail helps.

👉 Report fly-tipping directly to Swindon Borough Council https://www.swindon.gov.uk/info/20023/environmental_problems/28/fly-tipping

🛑 Protect Yourself and the Area
If you are planning Tree/Hedge work in your garden, please remember your legal duty of care:
1. Always use a registered waste removal company.
2. Always ask to see the Tree surgeon/Contractor’s Waste Carrier Licence before any work starts.
3. If they cannot show you a licence, do not hire them. If their waste is found dumped, you could face a large fine.

Let’s work together to keep our green spaces beautiful and catch those responsible!

Did you know there is a blood bank for pets? 🩸

Pet Blood Bank UK is a charity that helps to save the lives of pets in need. It’s just like the human blood service, but for dogs! 🐕 They run donation sessions across the country where owners bring their much loved dogs to give blood.

Pet Blood Bank needs your help to ensure blood is always available 🙏They are looking for large, happy, healthy, and confident dogs to come forward as blood donors to help save the lives of other dogs in need.

Their next sessions in Swindon are 12th July and 20th September.

To be a blood donor, your dog should be:
🐶 Between the ages of 1 and 8
🐶 Weigh over 25kg
🐶 Fit and healthy
🐶 Happy, confident, and enjoy meeting new people

If this sounds like your dog, head over to Pet Blood Bank’s website to find out more 👉 www.petbloodbankuk.org/dogs
