Saturday, 27 June represents Armed Forces Day 2026 across the country. Join myself and members of local Cadet Units and the Royal British Legion as we raise the Armed Forces Flag in Sutton High Street on Monday, 22 June at 11am in Trinity Square.

Councillor Muhammad Sadiq has been elected to the position of Mayor of Sutton.

Reflecting on his election, “It is a great honour and privilege to have been elected as Mayor of Sutton. To be entrusted with representing the borough and serving its residents is a responsibility I value deeply. I remain committed to supporting our diverse communities, celebrating the achievements of local people and organisations, and continuing to work for the benefit of all residents across Sutton.”

Almost time for our big concert!🎤

Come along for a great evening of music and song with the Norwood Wind Ensemble and the Sing out Sutton Choir. The concert is supporting my chosen charities: Sutton Womens Centre and Sutton, Kingston, Epsom Parkinson's UK.

It will be held at All Saints’ Church, High Street, Carshalton, SM5 3AG, on Saturday, 25 April 2026, starting at 7:30pm. Tickets are £12 and are available at the door or from the Mayor’s Secretary at [email protected].

I really enjoyed catching up with our young entrepreneurs at the Young Enterprise Company of the Year Showcase. It’s impressive to see what these students have achieved by running their own companies alongside their schoolwork this year.

I was honored to attend the Sutton Regional Final of Jack Petchey’s Speak Out Challenge. Seeing our young people take the stage with such courage and confidence was truly inspiring.

The passion and insight in every speech reminded me that the future of our borough is bright. A huge thank you to Speakers Trust for their incredible work empowering over 40,000 young people across the UK to speak up, be heard, and believe in themselves.
