This weekend has been mine and Dads upgrade assessment weekend. We are both really pleased to tell you all we have passed and are now a full search dog team. The old man (Dad) managed to keep up with me and the four assessors were able to sign us off as qualified. Thank you the assessors from National Search and Rescue Dog Association (NSARDA) for making the long journey to Staffordshire and for our dog supports helping us through what Dad says has been a stressful weekend.

A massive thank you to everyone who has hidden for us, not just this weekend, but since we started this massive rollercoaster of a journey.

The learning and hard work continues, with the support from National Search and Rescue Dog Association - Staffordshire and Search and Rescue Dog Association SARDA Wales as we continue to work together to be the best team we can be.

Last weekend me and Dad headed back to Search and Rescue Dog Association SARDA Wales for training at Dads favourite venue just outside Beddgelert. Three great day, with very different conditions each day.

As ever, thanks to everyone who hid for us, not ideal conditions for the bodies!

Last week Dad was away in the Cairngorms and then the Lake District.

He left me at home!! I wasn’t impressed.

He did manage to find a casualty without me while in the Cairngorms on the side of Cairn Lochan and worked with the Coastguard Helicopter, Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team and a passing Glenmore Lodge instructor to manage the casualty an get them off to hospital.

Thankfully Dad has taken me to train with our friends at Search and Rescue Dog Association SARDA Wales this weekend! He said I am still way better at finding people than him.

Yesterday evening me and Dad were tasked by Staffordshire Police as part of Staffordshire Search and Rescue Team to help search for a vulnerable missing person the the Leek area.

We were joined by our friends at Buxton Mountain Rescue Team, Derby Mountain Rescue Team, Cheshire Search and Rescue and another four dogs from Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England.

Thankfully in the early hours of this morning the missing man was located and safety returned home to his very grateful family.

A fantastic end to a large scale multi agency response.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks of training for me and Dad. Last weekend we were with our friends at Search and Rescue Dog Association SARDA Wales working two areas in the hills then around a caravan park. All providing great learning for us both and some valuable feedback.

Today we have been back with National Search and Rescue Dog Association - Staffordshire on Cannock Chase working two different areas near to Seven Springs and putting into practice some of our feedback from last weekend.

A massive thank you to the bodies for hiding for me and for all the trainers help and support. Me and Dad are ready for bed now.

Me and Dad were asked to assist along with Staffordshire Search and Rescue Team for a missing person in Stoke-on-Trent for Staffordshire Police.

Just as my driver (Dad) was getting in the car we had the call back to say they had been found. Good news and back to snoozing the morning away.

Today me and Dad have been asked to search for a missing person in the Burton area by Staffordshire Police with Staffordshire Search and Rescue Team

We have been joined by Derby Mountain Rescue Team and Search Dog Tali
