🎉 Great news! 🎉

The zip wire at Brewood Jubilee Park is officially back in action and ready for take-off! 🚀

After some maintenance and repairs, it's time for little adventurers to climb aboard, hold on tight, and enjoy the ride once again. 🌟

A big thank you to everyone for your patience while the work was carried out. Now it's time to get back to making memories, having fun, and enjoying everything our park has to offer! 😊

How do I recycle my food?

Collect leftovers, peelings, scraps and out of date food in a liner, tie it up, and pop it into your brown caddy

Close the lid fully and lock the handle (upright position)

Place your brown food waste caddy alongside your other bins on your normal bin collection day by 7am

Your brown caddy will be emptied every week on your normal bin day.

🤎 What can go in your caddy?

You can recycle all types of food waste, cooked or raw, including:

Fruit and vegetable peelings 🥕
Tea bags and coffee grounds ☕
Leftovers and plate scrapings 🍽️
Meat, fish and bones🥩
Bread and pastry 🍞
Eggshells and dairy products 🥚
Pet food🐾
⛔ Please remove all packaging and do not include liquids.

🏢I live in a flat or apartment, what do I do?

You will receive your indoor caddy, liners, and a shared outside brown bin this week. You can start putting food waste in the shared outside brown bin straight away. The new brown bin will be emptied weekly from your normal bin collection point starting next week.

🚗 Volunteers Needed – Brewood & Coven Car Scheme 🚗
We’re putting out an appeal for more volunteer drivers to help support residents across the parish who need transport to medical appointments.
At the moment, we have no volunteers from Coven or Bishops Wood, and only one from Wheaton Aston – so we would really love to hear from people in those areas especially.
Could you help?
If you’re considering volunteering, we promise to make it as flexible and stress-free as possible:
✅ We’ll only contact you for trips on the specific mornings or afternoons you’ve said you might be available
✅ We won’t pester you outside those times
✅ You can decline any trip, for any reason, with no pressure at all
✅ You’ll receive the Direct Gov mileage allowance
✅ We’ll cover any additional vehicle insurance costs
Even offering occasional help can make a huge difference to someone needing to get to an appointment.

🌿 Brewood Jubilee Park Update 🌿

We’re pleased to share a quick update on Brewood Jubilee Park!

The zip wire will be open and ready to use by the end of next week. The Parish Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused while this has been unavailable.

Work is also currently underway to repair the swing set in the park. We’re sorry for the disruption this may cause and appreciate your patience while these improvements are carried out.

Shaping South Staffordshire: Residents’ Panel now recruiting

South Staffordshire Council wishes to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part in phase one and shared their vision for South Staffordshire up to 2045. Now they’re moving into the next stage of the consultation - and would love you to be involved.

🎟️ You’ll be paid £250 if you complete all panel sessions.

The Residents’ Panel is a representative group who will build on phase one ideas, explore key themes in more depth, and help shape a long term vision for the area. No prior knowledge needed.

This opportunity is open to anyone who lives in, works in, or visits South Staffordshire.
