♻️ Recycle Week 2026 is here with South Staffordshire Council!
From Monday 14th to Sunday 20th September, SSC are joining WRAP's annual Recycle Week campaign to help you discover new ways to .
Throughout the week SSC will be sharing daily tips, facts and advice to help you recycle more of the right things, more often. You might be surprised by some of the everyday items that can be given a new life instead of ending up in the bin!
Keep an eye on South Staffordshire Council page each day and join in making a difference, one recyclable item at a time. 🌍

🚧Overnight A5 Road Closures – Important Information 🚧
Please be aware that the A5 Watling Street will be closed overnight between the A449/A5 Gailey Roundabout and M6 Junction 12 in both directions while work continues on the West Midlands Interchange project.
📅 Closure dates:
• 8pm on Saturday 5th to 10am Sunday 6th September 2026
🏠 Access to properties will be maintained throughout the works. However, access routes will be managed from either side of the closure:
Harrisons Lane and properties east of Harrisons Lane: Please approach via M6 Junction 12.
Access to properties west of Gailey Marina: Please approach via the A449/A5 Gailey Roundabout.
⭕️ The works will involve excavating a trench across the A5 carriageway to install the cable infrastructure, followed by the reinstatement of the carriageway and its underlying sub-formation.
🚗 A fully signed diversion route will be in place throughout the closures, and access to properties will be maintained at all times.
Please allow extra time for your journeys if travelling in the area during these dates.

🐴Commemorative Horse Ride – Sunday 30th August 🐴
Brewood & Coven Parish Council are sharing the following information on behalf of Boscobel House:
A commemorative horse ride will take place on Sunday 30th August, marking the 375th anniversary of King Charles II’s escape following the Battle of Worcester.
The ride will start from Boscobel House at 10am and will involve 12 riders, including members of the Worcestershire Cavalry in period dress. The route will travel via Chillington Hall, Bishops Wood, Offoxey Road, Tong Roughs and the Monarch’s Way.
🚗 Es**rt vehicles will accompany the riders while on the road. Vehicles will be allowed to pass when it is safe to do so, but motorists are asked to slow down, take care and allow plenty of space when approaching the horses and riders.
We hope everyone who comes along to watch enjoys the ride and the historic occasion, and wish all those taking part a wonderful and memorable day.
