The time is now to lead for clear effective change. A fair deal for everyone across Huntingdonshire is what we are offering. There are no gimmicks, no empty election promises, just common sense for the area we all call home. St Ives is my home too and we deserve to be listened to.

On 7th May, say no to dirty politics. On 7th May, believe in a party who know Huntingdonshire and its potential. On 7th May, Vote Conservative, Vote for Andrew Riddell - St Ives South - HDC and Cllr Craig Smith - St Ives South.

It’s time to turn the page and deliver change for Huntingdonshire!

Over the past four years, our district has lost its way. We’ve seen taxes and charges up, services go down and decisions driven by ideology instead of common sense under the Lib Dem-led coalition. At the same time they have hoarded millions in reserves.

Huntingdonshire deserves better. That’s why I am incredibly proud to launch the Huntingdonshire Conservatives 2026 Local Election Manifesto.

This isn't about flashy promises; it's a practical, resident-first agenda rooted in what actually matters to you.

Our clear plan for Huntingdonshire:

✅ Local Services Focused on Local People: We will reassess the unfair charges and deliver a practical parking strategy that supports our town centres.
✅ Looking After Your Money: We will keep Council Tax as low as possible, cut the waste, and guarantee there will be no move to a 4-day work week for 5-days pay for Council staff.
✅ Investing in Our Communities' Future: We will work with the Police and Crime Commissioner to tackle anti-social behaviour and drive for local investment.
✅ Homes and Infrastructure That Work for You: We will demand infrastructure before expansion—meaning no large-scale developments without commitments to roads, schools, and GP surgeries.
✅ No More Them And Us: We will defend essential rural links and ensure fair investment across both our market towns and villages.
✅ Practical Approach To Our Environment: We will support sensible, grassroots environmental action and stop giving blank cheques to vanity net-zero schemes.

Huntingdonshire is a district we are proud to call home, and we believe your council should reflect your values—serving people, not politics. We want to keep more of your money in your pocket and get the basics right.

A clear plan. A competent council. A fresh start for Huntingdonshire.

Enough said. What would be next if the LibDems get in power for another term and control the merge towards the new Unitary Authority? I dread to think.

So our MP tried to support residents with a non biased letter. This was highlighting the issue and communication he had received on the matter. See below the response from the Chair of Highways at Cambridgeshire County Council, the letter from our MP, Ben Obese-Jecty and my comment on his pointless Facebook post.
