I hope you had a lovely weekend! 💛

Mine included the most amazing Luxury Facial and Indian Head Massage from Kirsty. It was so relaxing that I embarrassingly snored... not once, not twice, but at least three times 😴😂 (possibly more, but who's counting?).

I've also been catching up with The Correspondent by Virginia Evans, which is our next book club read. I can't wait to hear what everyone thinks when we meet 📚✨

If you get chance, please pop over and have a look at Kirsty's page. She's absolutely brilliant and has the magical ability to turn stressed, tired humans into sleepy ones 😄💆‍♀️💛

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a book to finish before book club... 📖☕

📚 It’s a wet start to the weekend ☔, but that just means it’s perfect weather for curling up somewhere cosy with a good book. The library has had another little refill this morning, ready for anyone looking to escape the rain for a few hours through the pages of a book.

⭐ BOOK OF THE DAY: The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah ⭐ A modern classic and one of those books that readers recommend again and again. Set in occupied France during the Second World War, it’s a powerful story of courage, sacrifice, love and survival. If you’ve never read it, keep some tissues handy!

📖 Just Say Yes – Maxine Morrey’s feel-good romance full of warmth, friendship and taking chances.

📖 A Lady’s Guide to Fortune-Hunting – A witty Regency romance packed with charm, clever schemes and sparkling dialogue.

📖 Walking Ollie – Stephen Foster’s inspiring true story of a man, his dog and an unforgettable journey.

💬 Have you read The Nightingale? It’s one of those books that seems to stay with readers long after they’ve finished the last page.

Today’s Book of the Day is a very special one! 😊
I’d like to say a huge thank you to Thomas Dunn, who regularly supports our little library on TikTok and never seems far away from the like button. It’s always lovely to see familiar names popping up, and support like that really does mean a lot to a little community library.

Tommy is based over in Liverpool, just a little way down the coast from us, so when I spotted a copy of one of his books, I knew exactly what today’s Book of the Day should be!

⭐ BOOK OF THE DAY: The Best of Friends by Thomas Dunn ⭐ – A gripping crime thriller where friendship, loyalty and dark secrets collide. The tagline says it all: “When friendship turns to murder.” I’m looking forward to seeing why so many readers have enjoyed Tommy’s work.

📖 The Women Who Ran Away – Sheila O’Flanagan’s uplifting story of women finding the courage to start over.

📖 What Remains – Wendy Walker’s psychological suspense novel full of secrets and unexpected twists.

📖 All That Glitters – Danielle Steel explores ambition, success and the price that can come with both.

📖 Daddy’s Girl – Josephine Cox’s emotional family saga of hardship, resilience and hope.

📖 Perfidia – James Ellroy’s dark and atmospheric crime epic set in wartime Los Angeles.

📖 Dead Tomorrow – Peter James delivers another tense Roy Grace thriller packed with danger and suspense.

📖 Life to the Limit – Jenson Button’s fascinating autobiography covering his Formula One career and life beyond the track.

💬 Have you discovered any great local authors recently? And has anyone already read The Best of Friends?

Have a lovely day everyone x

💖 Thank you so much for the amazing book donations received this week. They are all safely inside, scanned and queued up ready to go out into the library. I’m so grateful 🙏🏻📚

I’m also busy working on this year’s Summer Reading Challenge for the children to help keep them reading throughout the holidays, so keep an eye out for that! ☀️📖

It’s another rainy morning here, so I’ll be refilling the library a little later once the weather improves ☔️💛

Have a lovely day everyone!
