These are the council tax rates for the next year ( April 26/27). In South Normanton a Band D property will pay a total of £2467... this is the second lowest in the Bolsover District after Barlborough.

This is made up of;

Derbyshire County Council - £1448.85
DCC Adult Social Care - £260.14
Police & Crime Commissioner- £308.60
Fire & Rescue - £98.41
Bolsover District Council - £215.20
South Normanton Parish Council - £136.72

These figures are all for Band D property - they differ for the other bands, for example Band A is £1645.28 total.

Proud to be getting this up and running in our area, with support from Bolsover District Council’s Community Safety Partnership and Derbyshire Police.

It’s simple. A warm, safe place for young people aged 11 to 18 to drop in, try kickboxing, stay out of trouble, and grab a hot chocolate and some snacks.

Kickboxing’s helped a lot of people manage anger, steady their emotions, build confidence, and just feel better in themselves. And honestly, it’s just a decent place to be when the weather’s grim.

Turn up for ten minutes or the whole hour, whatever works.

🏫 The truth about Bolsover Sixth Form 🧑🏼‍🎓

A sixth form was approved under the last government. This Labour government took the decision to end the programme that it was due to be part of and left all of the approved projects - including our sixth form here in Bolsover - in limbo while they review whether they should go ahead.

We’re glad that our MP agrees that this was a calamitous decision. If she wants to do something about it, she could start by writing to Labour’s Education Secretary and explaining how her ideologically driven decisions are failing Bolsover’s young people.
