His Excellency the Md. Abdul Hamid, Hon'ble President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, was received today by H. E. Saida Muna Tasneem, Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Ireland, at Heathrow Airport in London.

রাষ্ট্রপতি মো. আবদুল হামিদ ১১ দিনের সফরে উরুগুয়ে যাওয়ার পথে আজ সকালে লন্ডনে পৌঁছেছেন।

লন্ডনে বাংলাদেশ হাইকমিশনের প্রেস মিনিস্টার আশিকুন নবী চৌধুরী বাসস’কে বলেন, রাষ্ট্রপতিকে নিয়ে আমিরাত এয়ারলাইন্সের একটি ভিভিআইপি ফ্লাইট ইকে ৫৮৫ স্থানীয় সময় সকাল ১১টা ৫১ মিনিটে হিথ্রো আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দরে পৌঁছে।

যুক্তরাজ্যে বাংলাদেশের হাইকমিশনার সাইদা মুনা তাসনিম বিমানবন্দরে রাষ্ট্রপতিকে স্বাগত জানান। লন্ডনে বাংলাদেশ মিশনের উচ্চ পদস্থ কর্মকর্তারা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

বিমানবন্দরে অভ্যর্থনার পর আনুষ্ঠানিক মটর শোভাযাত্রা সহকারে রাষ্ট্রপতি হামিদকে পার্কলেনে লন্ডন হিল্টনে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়। সেখানে তিনি উরুগুয়ের মন্টেভিডিও যাওয়ার আগে ছয় ঘন্টা যাত্রাবিরতি করবেন।

যুক্তরাজ্যের ব্রিটিশ-বাংলাদেশী কমিউনিটির প্রতিনিধিরা সেখানে রাষ্ট্রপতিকে স্বাগত জানান।
বাংলাদেশ আওয়ামী লীগের ইউকে চ্যাপ্টারের সভাপতি সুলতান মাহমুদ শরীফ ও সাধারণ সম্পাদক সৈয়দ সাইয়েদুর রহমান ফারুক অন্যান্যের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

১১ দিনের উরুগুয়ের সফরের অংশ হিসেবে রাষ্ট্রপতি স্থানীয় সময় সন্ধ্যা ৬টা ৩৫ মিনিটে লাতাম এয়ারলাইন্সের ফ্লাইট (এলএ ৮০৮৫) যোগে লন্ডনের হিথ্রো আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দর ছেড়ে যাবেন।

বাংলাদেশের রাষ্ট্রপতি ১ মার্চ মন্টেভিডিওতে উরুগুয়ের প্রেসিডেন্সিয়াল কমান্ড হস্তান্তর অনুষ্ঠানে যোগ দেবেন। উরুগুয়ে থেকে ফিরে এসে আবদুল হামিদের ৫-৬ মার্চ লন্ডনে কিছু বেসরকারী সূচিতে যোগ দেয়ার কথা রয়েছে বলে পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের কর্মকর্তারা জানিয়েছেন।

রাষ্ট্রপ্রধান আজ সকালে ঢাকা ত্যাগ করেন। আমিরাত এয়ারলাইন্সের ভিভিআইপি ফ্লাইটটি রাষ্ট্রপতি এবং তার সফরসঙ্গীদের নিয়ে আজ বেলা ১টা ৩৫ মিনিটের দিকে হযরত শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দর ছেড়ে যায়।

রাষ্ট্রপতির স্ত্রী রাশিদা খানম এবং বঙ্গভবনের সংশ্লিষ্ট সচিবরা এই সফরে আবদুল হামিদের সাথে রয়েছেন।

স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী আসাদুজ্জামান খান, তথ্যমন্ত্রী ড. হাছান মাহমুদ, পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী ড. একে আবদুল মোমেন, বেসামরিক বিমান পরিবহন ও পর্যটন প্রতিমন্ত্রী মো. মাহবুব আলী, ঢকায় ব্রাজিলের রাষ্ট্রদূত, মন্ত্রিপরিষদ সচিব, তিন বাহিনীর প্রধানগণ, প্রধানমন্ত্রীর মুখ্য সচিব, স্বরাষ্ট্র সচিব, পুলিশ মহাপরিদর্শক (আইজিপি), পররাষ্ট্র সচিব এবং উচ্চপদস্থ বেসামরিক ও সামরিক কর্মকর্তারা রাষ্ট্রপতিকে বিমানবন্দরে বিদায় জানান।
রাষ্ট্রপতি হামিদ ৯ মার্চ দেশে ফিরবেন বলে আশা করা হচ্ছে।

Bangladesh High Commission, London organized the Mujib Shotoborsho Children's Art Competition today, 23rd February, and 9th February 2020 at the Brady Arts and Community Centre in East London where children from different parts of London gathered and painted on "Bangabandhu and Bangladesh" (age group 5-8), "Bangabandhu's Golden Bengal" (agegroup 9-12) and "Bangabandhu and Britain" (age group13-19).

Her Excellency Saida Muna Tasneem, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the United Kingdom and Ireland encouraged the Bangladeshi-British children to know the life of our great leader, Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibir Rahman. She thanked all participating children, parents, organizers, judges, press, cultural organizations and community members for their cooperation in this regard.

The competition was held in two segments - the first day was 9th February, at the same venue in East London, and the second day was today 23rd of February. On 9th February, there was very rough and stormy weather, hence all children and parents could not come. We greatfully acknowledge that as 34 students came defying the rough and stormy weather and attended the painting competition. They painted very nice pictures of Bangabandhu, Bangladesh and Britain. We would like to acknowledge our heartfelt gratitude and sincere thanks to all those wonderful children and their parents.

As announced earlier, the BHC-London Mujib Borsho Children's Art Fest & Competition will be held tomorrow as per the following schedule:

Sunday 23rd February, 2020
From 12pm - 2pm
Brady Arts and Community Centre, East London.

There will be only one shift from 12pm and continue up to 2pm. All children who could not come during the earlier day (9th February) due to rough weather, are welcome and encouraged to participate.

মান্যবর হাইকমিশনার সাঈদা মুনা তাসনিম এঁর নেতৃত্বে যথাযথ ভাবগাম্ভীর্য, মর্যাদা এবং আন্তর্জাতিকতার মধ্য দিয়ে বাংলাদেশ হাই কমিশন, লন্ডন আজ পালন করল মুজিববর্ষ-অমর একুশে ভাষা শহীদ দিবস এবং আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা দিবস ২০২০।

Bangladesh High Commission, London today observed the Mujib-Borsho Language Martyrs Day - 21st February, and the International Mother Language Day, 2020 in London with due solemnity and in a true diplomatic and international spirit, led by Her Excellency Saida Muna Tasneem.

মুজিব শতবর্ষে একুশে ফেব্রুয়ারির প্রথম প্রহরের ঠিক আগ-মুহূর্তে লন্ডন সময় ২০শে ফেব্রুয়ারি সন্ধ্যা ৬টায় একুশের অমর গান- "আমার ভাইয়ের রক্তে রাঙানো একুশে ফেব্রুয়ারি, আমি কি ভুলিতে পারি" -এর রচয়িতা সর্বজন শ্রদ্ধেয় ক্ষুরধার কলামিস্ট, লন্ডন প্রবাসী লেখক-কবি-সাংবাদিক আব্দুল গাফফার চৌধুরীকে সম্মাননা প্রদান করে বাংলাদেশ হাই কমিশন। হাইকমিশন মিলনায়তনে এক অনাড়ম্বর অনুষ্ঠানে যুক্তরাজ্যে নিযুক্ত বাংলাদেশের মান্যবর হাইকমিশনার সাঈদা মুনা তাসনীম জনাব আব্দুল গাফফার চৌধুরীর হাতে এ সম্মাননা তুলে দেন, এবং তাঁর প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করেন। মহান ভাষা আন্দোলনের অমর গানের রচয়িতা জীবন্ত কিংবদন্তি আবদুল গাফফার চৌধুরীকে বাংলাদেশ হাই কমিশন লন্ডন কর্তৃক প্রদত্ত সম্মাননা জ্ঞাপনের ঐতিহাসিক মুহূর্তটি বাংলাদেশের সময় টেলিভিশন চ্যানেলে এবং বাংলাদেশ হাইকমিশনের ফেসবুক পেইজে লাইভ (সরাসরি) সম্প্রচারিত হয়।

ঠিক রাত বারোটায়, একুশের প্রথম প্রহরে, পূর্ব লন্ডনের আলতাব আলী পার্কের শহীদ মিনারে অমর ভাষা শহীদদের স্মৃতির প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করেন বাংলাদেশের মান্যবর হাই কমিশনার সাঈদা মুনা তাসনীম এবং বাঙালি অধ্যুষিত পূর্ব লন্ডনের টাওয়ার হ্যামলেটস কাউন্সিলের মেয়র জন বিগস এবং কাউন্সিল স্পিকার। এ সময় বাংলাদেশ হাইকমিশনের ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তাগণ, ব্রিটিশ বাংলাদেশী কমিউনিটির সিনিয়র নেতৃবৃন্দ, গণমাধ্যমকর্মীগণ এবং সর্বস্তরের পেশাজীবী প্রবাসী বাংলাদেশীগণ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

Right before the first hours of Ekushey February in the Mujib@100 (Bangabandhu Birth Centenary) in London, in the evening of 20th February, the Bangladesh High Commission, London accorded an honour to the writer of the immortal song of Ekushey - "Amar Bhaiyer Rokte Rangano Ekushey February, Ami Ki Bhilite Pari" Mr Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury. Her Excellency Saida Muna Tasneem, Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, handed over the honor-crest to him at a solemn ceremony at the High Commission Auditorium, in Kensington, London. She paid deep respect to him. The historic moment of according the honor to the living legendary Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury, the author of the immortal song of the great language movement, was broadcast live (live) on Shomoy television channel and on Bangladesh High Commission's Facebook.

Her Excellency the High Commissioner made a valuable speech at the Amar Ekushey programme organized by the Bangladesh Center in East London at 9pm.

At twelve o'clock in the night, at the Shaheed Minar in East London, Altab Ali Park, a special tribute to the memory of the martyrs of the immortal language was paid. Senior officials of the Bangladesh High Commission, senior leaders of the Bangladeshi community, press and expatriate Bangladeshi professionals from all walks of life were present during the meeting.

জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের জন্মশতবার্ষিকী উদযাপন উপলক্ষে বাংলাদেশ হাই কমিশন, লন্ডন -এর উদ্যোগে মুজিববর্ষ শিশুদের চিত্রাংকন প্রতিযোগিতার বিস্তারিত:

তারিখ: রবিবার ৯ই ফেব্রুয়ারী ২০২০ (আজ)
সময়: বিকেল ৩টা - সন্ধ্যা ৭.৩০ পর্যন্ত
স্থান: ব্র্যাডি আর্টস সেন্টার, পূর্ব লন্ডন

দুইটি শিফটে এই চিত্রাংকন প্রতিযোগিতা অনুষ্ঠিত হবে:

বিকেল ৩-৫টা পর্যন্ত,
এবং
বিকেল ৫.৩০-সন্ধ্যা ৭.৩০টা পর্যন্ত।

প্রথম শিফট (বিকাল ৩ - ৫টা পর্যন্ত): এই শিফটে শুধুমাত্র যে সকল শিশু অনলাইনে এবং ফোনে রেজিস্ট্রেশন করেছে তারা অংশগ্রহণ করবে। ইতোমধ্যে ২০০ জনের অধিক রেজিস্ট্রেশন সম্পন্ন করেছে। রেজিস্টার্ড শিশুদের ২টা ৪৫ এর মধ্যে ভেন্যুতে আসার জন্য অনুরোধ করা যাচ্ছে।

দ্বিতীয় শিফট (বিকেল ৫.৩০ - সন্ধ্যা ৭.৩০টা পর্যন্ত): যে সকল শিশুর রেজিস্ট্রেশন করা এখনো সম্ভব হয়নি তারা এই শিফটে অংশগ্রহণ করবে। অন-দ্যা-স্পট আগত সকল শিশুকেই অংশগ্রহণের সুযোগ দেয়া হবে। তাদেরকে বিকেল ৫টা ১৫ এর মধ্যে ভেন্যুতে আসার জন্য অনুরোধ জানানো যাচ্ছে।

সব মিলিয়ে তিনশো'র বেশি শিশু এই চিত্রাঙ্কন প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশগ্রহণ করবে বলে আশা করা যাচ্ছে।
