Solihull Council is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Administration Officer to join our Planning, Design & Engagement Services team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Building Safety Levy, a new high-profile national initiative that helps ensure the safety of our built environment. In addition, you will contribute to vital services including Planning, Building Control and Land Charges.

Working within a busy and supportive administration team, you’ll provide essential systems, data and customer support, ensuring services run smoothly and deliver high-quality outcomes for residents, businesses and partners.

What you’ll be doing:
You’ll take on a varied and rewarding role, including:
• Providing frontline advice and support to customers, businesses and stakeholders.
• Maintaining and updating Building Safety Levy records, databases and statutory registers accurately.
• Ensure national deadlines are met and processes followed with regards receipting and invoicing payments for the Building Safety Levy.
• Supporting Planning and Building Control teams, including interpreting construction drawings and calculating the levy.
• Managing and inputting data into specialist systems such as GIS mapping and web applications.
• Processing financial transactions, fees and payments in line with regulations.
• Supporting the delivery of events, meetings and service activities.
• Ensuring compliance with GDPR, legislation and council policies.

About you:
We’re looking for someone who is organised, adaptable and committed to delivering excellent service. You will also have

• Previous experience in an administration or office-based role
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems
• Experience working in a customer-focused environment
• Ability to manage data accurately and maintain records
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
• Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Hours: 37.0 Hours per Week

Salary Range: Soulbury Assistant Educational Psychologist 2-5 £37,265 - £41,616 per annum.

Fixed Term Contract initially for 1 year from commencement of the post, with the possibility of the post being extended, dependent on future funding.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for two exceptional, enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Educational Psychologists (EP) to support the delivery of the new Experts at Hand programme, that has been introduced by the Department for Education as part of the Government’s SEND Reforms.

Each Assistant EP will work under the supervision of qualified Educational Psychologists. Within this highly rewarding role, you will work directly in schools to support groups of children, staff and families using training, intervention, therapeutic approaches and consultation. Themes arising will include those such as cognition, emotional wellbeing, child development, attachment, trauma, teaching methodology and interaction.

You will gain experience, skills, knowledge and understanding of the role and professional practice of Educational Psychologists.

This is a temporary post suitable for psychology graduates who are awaiting, or proposing to apply for, admission to an approved course of post-graduate training leading to a doctorate-level qualification in the professional practice of Educational Psychology, recognised by the Health and Care Professions Council.

You will have a Psychology degree and experience of applying psychology within an educational setting, for example, teaching, delivering interventions for pupils, working with families or delivering SEND support.

You will be able to work under pressure as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and your exceptional engagement skills to work with children, young people and families will set you apart from other candidates.
