Time is running out to share your views.

Our survey on the future of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service closes this Sunday.

We’re currently developing our next Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP), the five-year plan that guides how we keep people across Lancashire safe. At this stage, there are no proposed changes; we’re simply asking communities what matters most to them.

Your feedback will help shape how our services are delivered in the years ahead, and we’re keen to hear from as many people as possible before the survey closes.

You might see multiple fire engines near Grimrod Place in Skelmersdale tomorrow morning.

Please do not worry, this is not an emergency, our crews are taking part in a training exercise.

Continuous training ensures our firefighters are prepared to respond safely and effectively to real incidents.

Your community. Your fire service. Your say.

We’re asking for your help to shape the future of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.

Our Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) sets out how we’ll keep people safe over the next five years and right now, we’re simply listening.

There are no proposed changes at this stage. We just want to understand what matters most to you.

We’re planning for the future of our services and your views matter.

Our Community Risk Management Plan is a five-year plan that outlines how we will help keep people in Lancashire safe. To shape our next plan, we’re inviting residents, businesses and communities to tell us what’s most important to them.

Your feedback will help guide how our services are delivered in the years ahead, with a further, more detailed consultation planned later in 2026.

Team Training and Operational Fitness 🚒

Before every gym session, we always start our shift by checking that all our equipment is safe, serviceable, and ready to go. Once everything’s set, we train together — and that can mean anything from cardio and weight training to a full functional workout.

Our goal is simple: to ensure we maintain the fitness, strength, and resilience needed for operational preparedness at incidents. Every session helps build not only our individual strength but also our teamwork — pushing, supporting, and encouraging each other to keep improving. 💪

During training at work, we always make sure to keep something in the tank — ready for those all-important callouts when our community needs us most.

Chester Treadmill Test 🏃‍♂️

One of the fitness assessments we use is the Chester Treadmill Test. It’s a great way to measure aerobic fitness in a safe, controlled way.

Give it a go and see how you get on!

Protocol:
1. Warm-Up (0–2 minutes)
• Speed: 6.2 km/h (3.8 mph)
• Incline: 0%
2. Gradual Increase in Incline
• After the warm-up, keep the speed constant at 6.2 km/h (3.8 mph).
• Increase the incline by 3% every two minutes.

Test Levels:
0–2 minutes: 0% gradient
2–4 minutes: 3% gradient
4–6 minutes: 6% gradient
6–8 minutes: 9% gradient
8–10 minutes: 12% gradient
10–12 minutes: 15%
