The councillor was attacked while putting up the poster for the Conservative candidate.

On Saturday, a local Adur Councillor, and member of my campaign team, was assaulted while putting up a poster in Sompting and had to be taken to hospital for treatment. This attack on a Councillor, and our democracy, is completely unacceptable - this is Britain and intimidation has no place in our politics.

As your Conservative candidate, I am proud that a Conservative Government introduced the pensions 'triple lock' to ensure the state pension always keeps up with rising prices. I am even more proud to say that if elected we will introduce the 'triple lock plus', a promise that the state pension will never be subject to income tax - something I wholeheartedly support.
