Join Preparation for Adulthood for a practical online session with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), exploring what young people with SEND and their families can expect from the Jobcentre and the support available when preparing for and moving into employment.
Wednesday 11 November 2026 | 12:30–13:30 | Online
This session will help you understand:
• Who can access Jobcentre support and how to get started
• What to expect when engaging with the Jobcentre—including what appointments look and feel like and who young people will meet
• What additional support is available for young people with SEND to make the Jobcentre more accessible
• How the Jobcentre can support someone to prepare for, find and apply for work
• What happens once someone starts work – what happens financially and what support is available
