Hope Project is a programme designed to enable selected youths to obtain the education and employment skills necessary to achieve economic self-sufficiency in occupations in demand and post-secondary education and training opportunities. This program provides an alternative education and employment pathway that enables participants the real opportunity to obtain a certified skill, remedial literac
y and numeracy training, CXC subject passes or advance toward post-secondary education in hospitality or other career-oriented employment. Special emphasis is placed on community development: community ownership, leadership development and community service. This holistic approach is a targeted method to engage young people for whom the traditional centres and programs of learning no longer appear attractive. The program provides an active environment in which the youth can enjoy taking responsibility for, and “giving back” to their communities.
