Salboy is planning an exciting social housing scheme in Salford, with around 600 homes on the former Renault dealership site on Trinity Way. Half will go to a housing association and the other half will be available at affordable rents.

This development will also include a supermarket, green spaces, and a market square.

With over 4,500 households on the waiting list for social homes in Salford, this is a vital step for our community.

Stay tuned for more updates!

The development company founded by billionaire bookmaker Fred Done is behind the plans.

At Anaconda Bridge, taking in the scale and opportunity of the Irwell River Park vision.

This is about reconnecting our communities with the river – creating greener, safer, more accessible spaces for walking, cycling, nature and wellbeing.
It’s still early stages, but there’s real potential here to transform the Irwell corridor for residents now and in the future.

We had a productive visit to the newly refurbished St Simon’s Street pitch in Blackfriars & Trinity, part of the PlayZones programme.
While many residents are enjoying the improved exercise equipment and making great use of the space, we noticed some areas needing attention.

🗑️ Unfortunately, we found overflowing bins and litter around the pitch. We’re reporting this to ensure the space remains clean and welcoming for everyone. Your feedback matters, and we’re committed to keeping our community spaces in top shape.

🐾 We also looked into concerns about the pitch being used as a dog area. While we didn’t see any evidence of this during our visit, we will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we work to improve our community facilities. Let’s make St Simon’s Street pitch a place we can all be proud of! 💪

📣 Have your say on improvements to Blackfriars Park!
Plans are underway to refurbish the multi-use games area (MUGA), with upgraded facilities for football and basketball, a new non-slip playing surface, and improvements to make the space more accessible for all users. ⚽🏀
The redesigned area will make better use of the space and include higher fencing to help keep balls within the court.
💬 We’d love your feedback – please take a few minutes to complete the consultation:

⚽️ The newly refurbished St Simon’s Street pitch in Blackfriars & Trinity is now open as part of the PlayZones programme – with free access for residents to get active and connect with others.
These improved, inclusive spaces are a real boost for community sport right across Salford.
We’re really pleased to see this investment locally and hope residents of all ages make the most of it!
