As we come to the end of Green Library month, this week our young visitors did some recycling work with our own crafters, today made miniature gardens and saw how worms make compost thanks to Upper Moreton Hall Rural Activities, and on Friday afternoon can make some Lego parks and gardens.. Now we are preparing for Crime Fiction month and we have taken delivery of some lovely brand new books by less well known crime writers. Come along and discover a new one for yourselves

๐Ÿ“š National Year of Reading ๐Ÿ“–

As part of the National Year of Reading, our wonderful Staffordshire Libraries staff will be sharing their love of reading throughout the year by recommending some fantastic books.

First up is Tara from Perton Library, who recommends How to Find Love in a Bookshop by Veronica Henry.

โœจ Imagine cosying up in a comfy chair with a blanket and a hot chocolate โ€“ thatโ€™s exactly how this book feels. Itโ€™s warm, comforting and impossible not to get lost in.

Perfect for readers who love books about books, romance, and that magical feeling of falling in love with the characters on every page.

A must-read for summer! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ“š

๐Ÿ‘‰ Why not pick up a copy from your local library or reserve one online today? And tell us โ€“ what are you reading? ๐Ÿ’ฌ

If you have ever donated children's books at Brereton Library, this is where they go. Books4Home also provide books to schools that are building libraries and to prisons so that inmates can read to their children when they visit. They always need pre-loved children's books and we are very happy to receive them to pass them on.

Rotary Great Britain & Ireland is excited to launch Books4Home Impact Days, inspired by Rotary Alumni 1210โ€™s incredible 10-year Rotary Books4Home project! ๐Ÿ“šโœจ

With over 200,000 donated books already helping children discover the joy of reading, weโ€™re inviting you to help us reach even more young readers and families during National Literacy Trust and Department for Education's National Year of Reading 2026.
