I’m sorry but we have had to close Brereton Library at 3:00pm today due to staff shortages. One of out volunteers has a family emergency and we are not allowed to open with only 1 member of staff in the library.

We apologise to anyone who intended calling at the library this afternoon but it is unfortunately unavoidable.

We are open again tomorrow morning from 9:30am until 1:00pm.

Also, due to the bank holiday weekend, we will be closed on Monday 31st August 2026, reopening on Tuesday morning at 8:45am

Many thanks and sending our apologies for the short notice of closure.

We had a wonderful two hour train ride through the calming Staffordshire scenery.

Nearly 8,000 children have already signed up to the Summer Reading Challenge 📚🎶

And we’re only four weeks in…

This year’s theme is Read to the Beat, and young readers across are getting stuck into books, audiobooks and eBooks — all while collecting rewards along the way 🎧

Our libraries are also packed with events and activities, giving families even more reasons to pop in this summer.

There’s still time to join in, and it’s completely free.

📍 Sign up at your local library.
