TW: injuries

Strimmer season has started, and with it comes hedgehog casualties. I’ve had to send 2 horrifically injured hedgehogs to be euthanised this week. Please take care with all garden tools.

Check undergrowth and long grass before strimming / hedges and thick undergrowth before cutting.

Gently lift / check inside compost heaps, garden waste piles, leaf piles etc before clearing / plunging forks or spades in. Many hedgehogs are still hibernating in these popular nesting sites.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the team Awbridge Arborists team for all their hard work, and to those of you who donated to their annual fundraising effort.
