Zionists and pro-Shah protesters decided to show their faces today at the weekly Palestine March in Leeds, UK.

A sign held by the demonstrators earlier along the route read “This is not a war, it’s a rescue mission. President Trump, finish the job”

The actions of some diaspora communities in western countries have often been at odds with the interests of the people in the home country, when the west is conducting imperialist operations, but never have a diaspora so openly cheered on the bombing of their own brothers and sisters back home like the Iranians I’ve seen over the last few months.

Labour MP David Taylor has called on the Home Office to revoke the visa of socialist political commentator Hasan Piker ahead of his scheduled appearance at SXSW London.

Piker has been the subject of an ongoing political smear campaign, largely over his support for Palestine, and has faced calls for de-platforming from both Democrats and Republicans in The United States, which has only escalated as his influence has recently spread into Democratic primary races.

This smear campaign appears to have now spread to the United Kingdom with the MP David Taylor, who has a long history of pro-Israel rhetoric, heading the calls for Piker to be banned for entering the country.

Andy Burnham has said he won’t back electoral reform without first holding general election.

Our current electoral system may let Reform in with a super majority with just 1/4 of the vote. It let Labour in on a super majority with just 32%. We need a more democratic and proportional voting system and we need it now.

Andy Burnham is willing to let Reform win the next election on a fraction of the vote, instead of doing the right thing, and improving our democracy.

Theres absolutely no reason The Greens should offer any form of support to Burnham’s parliamentary comeback if he will continue our broken electoral system on into another election.

The greens should fight in Makerfield and fight for the Manchester Mayoralty. No to Reform. No to Labour.

Will Andy Burnham be our next Prime Minister?

Plenty of things could get in his way; The NEC, Reform UK, Wes Streeting…

Whatever happens, whoever leads the Labour Party, we are all too aware who they serve. They sold out to corporate interests.

No to the status quo.
No to billionaires.
No to Labour.

Fight for a better world.

Josh Simons, MP for Makerfield, has announced he will resign to make way for Andy Burnham to run in a by-election in the Greater Manchester constituency.

The move comes after Wes Streeting resigned as health secretary this morning, signalling he was going to challenge Starmer for the leadership.

The decision will now be taken by the National Executive Committee of The Labour Party to decide if Burnham will be allowed to run for the seat, something he was denied of earlier this year in Gorton and Denton.

The leader of the Labour Party must be a member of parliament.

Even if Burnham were given permission to run there’s no guarantee he would make it into parliament before a new leader of The Labour Party is elected, with allies of Wes Streeting likely to push for a quick election to deny Burnham the chance of running.

There’s also no guarantee Andy Burnham will win the seat. Last election Makerfield voted 45% for Labour and 32% for Reform, but current polling shows Reform winning comfortably in the constituency.

Burnham has significant popularity across Greater Manchester and it will likely aid him in winning over voters, but it’s yet to be seen how his attempt to use the constituency to become prime minister will be perceived by the public.

Can Andy Burnham win in Makerfield?

MRP polling data shows Reform well ahead in Makerfield, the constituency Andy Burnham has confirmed he will seek to run in.

This poll is a model based on national polling and obviously doesn’t take into account the fact that the Labour candidate will be Andy Burnham, a well liked figure across Greater Manchester.
