We and our partners are running events on a wide range of safeguarding topics. They include helping people who hoard; our Autism and ADHD strategy; substance use; and also what is domestic abuse and what are the signs?

Check out and book onto sessions at https://www.safeguardingadultsyork.org.uk/SafeguardingWeek2026

If you’re a young person aged between 16 and 24 in York with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities and a Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), you could be eligible to join a Supported Internship programme with an employer in the city.

It’s Carers’ Week this week, a chance for us all to celebrate and reflect on the positive impact carers have on our communities in York.

This year’s national theme, “Building Carer Friendly Communities,” highlights the importance of creating places and services where unpaid carers are recognised, understood, valued, and supported within their caring role.
