Part time vacancy for a Clerk / Responsible Financial Officer at Croughton Parish Council:

The responsibilities of the Clerk/RFO include:
• carrying out the day to day running of the Parish Council
• being the ‘face’ of the Council, with good communication skills (both verbal and written)
• managing the accounts and paying the bills
• producing an Agenda for the meetings and writing the Minutes
• maintaining the administration for the Cemetery and Allotments
Basic computer knowledge and experience in Word and Excel, as well as a willingness to be self-driven, would be an advantage.

The role is part time, at 10 hours per week and offers a salary of £16.35-£17.85 per hour, depending on experience. Working from home for some of the time is an option.

The results from Vee’s last Chairman’s litter pick from Blenheim.

As the rain seems to be absent tomorrow morning, Vee will be doing her last Chairman’s litter pick. If there’s anything you want to bring to the attention of the Parish Council, you can come and chat to her. She will be starting at 10:30 and litter picking in Blenheim.

We mainly worked on levelling the ground and the next time rain is forecast, grass seed will be sown.

A message from RAF Croughton:

We would like to make you aware that between the 13th and 24th April, contractors will be making a meaningful start on the construction of the new main gate in the field adjacent to the B4031 (Buckingham Road). During this period, the work will cover the installation of the foundations for the initial entryway.

All works are expected to take place during the normal working day. While you may notice an increase in traffic at peak commuting time, the majority of the work is not expected to impact the road. However, some traffic control measures may occasionally be used during periods when larger vehicles are arriving.

Thank you for your understanding while these initial works are carried out.

Northants Police are investigating two break-ins which occurred in Croughton on 2nd March

A theft occurred around 6pm, when a secure shed door on High Street in Croughton was forced open and an electric bike was stolen. Please contact Northamptonshire Police on 101 quoting ref: 26125204.

Also an outbuilding break-in which occurred in a paddock, High Street, Croughton around 11pm on, when the out building was entered and a Stihl Strimmer was taken. Please contact Northamptonshire Police on 101 quoting ref: 26125317

They are keen to hear from anyone who may have information relating to the thefts or that may have been in the area around the time of the incident and heard or seen anything suspicious.
