Consideration is being given to holding borough council elections in Amber valley once every four years when all 45 wards would be up up for election. At the moment 15 wards are voted for each year for three years with County Council elections being held in the fourth year. The cycle then begins all over again. Holding the elections once every four years has it's pro's and cons. It brings some stability as the ruling group can set out their stall with confidence knowing that they have four years to carry out their programme. On the downside, if the ruling group turns out to be useless they can't be replaced after a year which is what can happen the way things stand at the moment. What do other group members think of this idea?
