Today Croydon marked Armed Forces Day with the annual Armed Forces Flag Raising Ceremony at Croydon Town Hall.

It was an honour to join veterans, serving personnel, cadets and residents in recognising the dedication and sacrifice of those who serve, and have served, in our Armed Forces.

We thank all members of the Armed Forces community for their service to our country.

BREAKING: Labour activist pleads GUILTY over Croydon election rigging scandal

A former Labour councillor has admitted a computer misuse offence amid allegations of vote rigging.

The case centres on claims that voters’ information and contact details were altered without their knowledge or consent.

One voter claimed that she had been signed up for a postal vote without asking for one.

Three other Labour figures, including another previous Croydon Labour Councillor, are due to face trial in 2029 accused of offences linked to the same allegations.

Today, on the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, we remember the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of all those who took part in the Normandy landings.

Their bravery helped secure the freedoms and democracy we enjoy today. We honour those who never returned, and we thank all who served.

Over the last four years, we’ve worked hard to stabilise Croydon’s finances, restore financial discipline and begin restoring pride in our borough after years of decline.

Now we build on that progress.

This Cabinet brings together experience, energy and a strong focus on the issues residents care about most:

✅ Cleaner neighbourhoods
✅ Better housing
✅ Stronger communities
✅ Investment in parks and playgrounds
✅ Protecting frontline services

But there is still much more to do, and this team is focused on delivery for Croydon residents.
