A month ago, Croydon residents re-elected me as Mayor with a much larger mandate than four years ago. I am incredibly grateful for that trust.
When I became Mayor in 2022, Croydon had been effectively bankrupted, confidence had collapsed and too many residents felt things were moving in the wrong direction.
Over the last four years we've stabilised the Council's finances, improved services, tackled fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour, invested in roads, parks and playgrounds, and started bringing investment back into our town centre.
But I know many residents don't judge us against where we were at our worst. They judge us against where they want Croydon to be.
That's why my focus over the next four years is simple: cleaner streets, safer neighbourhoods, stronger high streets and visible improvements that residents can see and feel in their daily lives.
Croydon is recovering. But there is still lots more to do.
