We are appealing for witnesses to an altercation between two drivers at Buck Barn crossroads on the A24 on Tuesday morning, 12 May.

The driver of a silver Vauxhall Meriva suffered fractures to his wrist and shoulder after reportedly being hit by a BMW and assaulted by the driver when he went to remonstrate with him. The incident happened around 11am to 11.20am.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, reported being undertaken twice on the A24 near Dial Post and near the Buck Barn crossroads, with the black BMW then manoeuvring and braking in front of his car each time.

There was an altercation at the Buck Barn crossroads with the Vauxhall driver, concerned that his baby was in the car. He went to talk to the other driver on the grass verge and reported being hit by the BMW and assaulted by the driver.

We are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage, to email [email protected], quoting serial 736 of 12/3.

Bin collections across the Easter bank holiday weekend will not change. Our crews will continue to work on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Our food waste collection service continues to be rolled out across the District, below is a quick reminder of what can, and can't, go into the caddies.

We can recycle cooked and uncooked food waste, including:

πŸ₯© meat, fish and shellfish
πŸ§€ dairy products such as cheese and yoghurt
🍏 cooked and uncooked vegetables and fruit including peelings
🍞 bread, cakes and pastries
🫘 rice, pasta and beans
🍽️ plate scrapings
πŸ«– tea bags and coffee grounds
πŸ₯š eggshells
πŸ– solid fats
🐢 pet food
πŸ• mouldy and out-of-date food

❌ Please do not put non-food products, packaging, oils and liquids, animal waste and bedding or flowers in your caddy. If you put these in, your bin won't be emptied.
❌ Please don't use plastic bags to line either the indoor or outdoor caddies. The compostable bags provided in your starter pack are biodegradable, and when they run out you can purchase more from most supermarkets. You can also use newspaper or kitchen roll to prevent food from sticking to the bottom of your kitchen caddy.

There is lots of information on our website about the new collection, a link is in the comments below.
