Industrial action called off

We wanted to let you know that the proposed industrial action by resident doctors (15th – 19th June) has now been called off nationally.

This means services across our hospitals will continue as normal.

If you have an appointment booked with us, please attend as planned unless we contact you directly. Urgent and emergency care is also available as usual.

We know this period may have caused some uncertainty, and we’re really grateful for your patience and understanding.

Thank you for your continued support.

More than 150 Nurses, Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and Midwives came together recently at Edge Hill University for the MWL Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Conference.

Colleagues from across the Trust led a series of themed presentations on advanced practice, showcasing the expertise already making a difference for our patients.

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect, learn and look ahead together.

Reflecting on the day, Chief Nurse, Sarah O’Brien said: “It was inspiring to see so many of our colleagues come together with real energy and passion. We had some brilliant examples of Nurses, AHPs and Midwives delivering innovative, person- centred advanced care. The conversations, ideas and shared commitment we saw really bring our strategy to life and I’m excited for what we’ll achieve together next".

Do you know the 4 Ts of type 1 diabetes?

Type 1 diabetes is a condition where your body cannot make a hormone called insulin. This causes your blood sugar to get too high, and needs to be managed every day.
The most common symptoms are the 4 Ts:

Toilet
Thirsty
Tired
Thinner

If you think you or your child has any of these symptoms, ask for an urgent GP appointment or call 111.

Anne Handley, a much-loved volunteer who has been with the Trust since 2017, is pictured with her Neonatal Unit colleagues at Whiston Hospital. As part of the Volunteers' Week celebrations, they came together to say a big, heartfelt thank you for everything she does. What a lovely team! 💙
