Anne Handley, a much-loved volunteer who has been with the Trust since 2017, is pictured with her Neonatal Unit colleagues at Whiston Hospital. As part of the Volunteers' Week celebrations, they came together to say a big, heartfelt thank you for everything she does. What a lovely team! 💙

If you are a parent-to-be, come and meet our experienced midwives, connect with other parents, and help yourself to get informed and fully prepared for the exciting journey ahead.

These sessions are open to all women and birthing people. Second time parents and beyond are welcome, as are support partners.

Classes take place at Whiston Hospital, Lowe House Health Centre in St Helens and Widnes Urgent Treatment Centre (those who would like to attend are welcome to book classes at a mixture of locations), and topics include:

- Wellbeing in pregnancy
- Induction of labour
- Pain relief in labour
- Homebirth info meeting
- Different modes of birth
- Life with a new baby

If you’re currently pregnant or have recently had a baby, Whiston Hospital Maternity and Neonatal Unit would like to hear about your maternity education experiences. Your feedback will help us understand what’s working well and where we can improve our maternity education services.

Whooping cough and RSV vaccinations help protect you, your baby and your pregnancy.

- Whooping cough (Pertussis) can be given from 16-32 weeks gestation
- RSV can be given from 28 weeks gestation

Drop-in sessions are available in Women’s Outpatients for those booked in to have their baby at Whiston Hospital. Dates and times are listed below:

- Monday 11th May, 9am-5pm
- Thursday 14th May, 9am-5pm
- Friday 15th May, 9am-5pm
- Monday 18th May, 9am-5pm
- Wednesday 20th May, 9am-5pm
- Thursday 21st May, 9am-5pm
- Friday 22nd May, 9am-5pm

Booking is not required, but those eligible to attend will need to bring their hand held notes.
