🚧Road Closure Notice – Seafield Lane, Portway 🚧

Seafield Lane will be closed on 14 November 2025 for around one day while Openreach replaces a telegraph pole.

📍 Location: Between Whitepits Lane and Brockhill Lane
🚗 Diversion: via Billesley Lane, Lilley Green Road, Icknield Street, Church Hill, and Beoley Lane (and vice versa)
🏡 Access: Local access will be maintained where possible.

Please be aware that Seafield Lane (C2175) will be closed from 19 November 2025 for around 3 days.

📍 Where: From the junction with Cherry Pit Lane for about 140 metres in a south-easterly direction.
👷‍♂️ Why: Severn Trent Water will be carrying out a new customer connection.
🚗 Access: Local access will be maintained where possible.
🔁 Diversion route: Via Seafield Ln, Beoley Ln (B4101), Church Hill (B4101), Icknield St, and Lilley Green Rd.

Beoley Parish Council would like to extend a huge thank you to all the local residents who came out to support the opening of our new community project, made possible through Community Legacy Grant funding from Bromsgrove District Council.

We believe everyone who attended agreed that this is a fantastic and positive addition to the parish — a wonderful space for the whole community to enjoy.

All the works on the field were carried out by quality local businesses:

The benches were made by local carpentry business Rustic Owl.

The fencing and trim trail were installed by local builder and landscaper Jcservicesgroup

We think everyone will agree that the workmanship looks built to last!

We hope this project will continue to grow and develop in the future, providing a welcoming open space for all members of our community to come together and enjoy.

Order made: to close that part of B4497 Icknield Street (Southbound Closure Only) from its junction with B4101 Dagnell End Road to its junction with B4497 Paper Mill Drive.

Reason: Drainage work for flood alleviation by WCC

Exemptions: to permit access to any land or premises fronting the highway affected where there is no other form of access; and to allow the works to be undertaken.

Alternative route: B4101 Dagnell End Road, A441 Birmingham Road, A441 Alvechurch Highway, A4023 Coventry Highway, B4497 Paper Mill Drive.

Maximum duration: 18 Months. Anticipated duration: 3 days
