Last Thursday, the Independence and Wellbeing Team had the pleasure of giving something back—however small—to recognise the incredibly generous time our wonderful volunteers give to us and to the residents of Portsmouth.
We hosted a red-carpet, Oscars-style celebration at the Ottoman Kitchen, where 60 volunteers arrived dressed in their finest for a special evening. The event featured a delicious Turkish feast, filled with great food, laughter, conversation, and appreciation.
The evening included a heartfelt thank you from the Adult Social Care Director, along with a series of light-hearted and meaningful award nominations to celebrate our volunteers’ contributions. Categories included the Dynamic Duo Award, the Heart of the Kitchen Award, Carers Award and the Flavours of Friendship Award, to name but a few.
It was a truly memorable evening, shining a spotlight on the dedication, kindness, and community spirit of our volunteers.
