Great work from the students these past couple of weeks. They've been working really hard. As well as all the lifting, carrying and physical work they've been great on working with us on the shop layout.

Some fabulous developments have been happening and we look forward to doing some reveals soon!

* * * ANNOUNCEMENT * * *

As Cobble and Hay prepares to open its doors for the very first time, we are absolutely delighted to announce that the legendary Chef Sean Paul Redding will be joining us as our Chef! 🌟

Sean Paul is a multi-award-winning chef who has spent decades at the very top of his game, cooking for celebrities including Kate Moss, Liv Tyler and Tamara Ecclestone, catering Sir Paul McCartney's birthday, and winning national acclaim for his outstanding talent.

He is our very first kitchen appointment and that tells you everything about the kind of place Cobble and Hay is going to be.

Here, Sean Paul is getting back to his roots with something truly special: warm, wholesome, homely cooking. Proper nourishing food made with skill, soul, and love.

A new direction for an extraordinary chef, and a fabulous start for our brand new venture.
We are beyond excited. And we think you will be too. 🍲

Watch this space for an opening date... in the meantime you can meet Chef Sean Paul at our stall at the Sugar and Spice Festival on Saturday 4th April .

Another busy few days at the Stables!

The floors have been top priority with lots of patience needed whilst we wait for each layer to dry. Tiles have been laid in the office and staff room. The dips in the cobbles are being levelled out.

The team came together for a little trial event in the carriage shed. The log burner was installed just in time. Our new chef made the most amazing scouse accompanied by his delicious red cabbage and beetroot. We trialled out our rustic bread rolls and the evening was a hit!

Back to a building site the next day and the fabulous students worked really hard. There was a real Simba moment when Leo finally pulled that root out! 🎉

We are seeing real progress now and hope to have another trial event soon ... watch this space!!

It's not just a numbers game, but reaching 1,000 followers on Facebook feels like a little milestone so "Hello and welcome" to all of you.

A quick intro if you don't know us already...

We are Bala and Helen and the founders of Cobble and Hay CIC.

Bala is the owner of The Chocolate Cellar
Helen is co-owner of Sunlight Bees

We are residents in Port Sunlight Village and are both involved in a number of community initiatives in the village.

For a long time we have both admired the beautiful stables and when the opportunity came up to bid for them we decided to go for it.
After collecting the keys in November we have been hard at it (in between the bee keeping and chocolate making) to get the space ready.

Our vision is:

🔹️ An old style dining facility/ canteen with a cafe as well - serving hot hearty dishes.🥣

🔸️a bakery serving delicious freshly baked bread 🍞

🔹️A village shop with all the little bits you might need in a hurry 🧻🥚🍅 as well as a few treats 🍫🍯

🔸️ A showcase for makers and creators 🖼

🔹️️An event space 🧘‍♀️
... and more.

At the heart of our vision is bringing people together in a warm welcoming environment through community and creativity.

Thank you for joining us on our journey and we look forward to sharing our progress and more details with you in due course.
