We are recruiting wholetime firefighters! 🧑‍🚒

If you want to find out more about the role, we are offering online sessions which are open to anyone who wishes to attend.

To register interest, please email [email protected] and state which sessions you want to attend.

Online sessions take place at 7pm on the dates below:

🚒September 16, 2026 - Recruitment process.
🚒October 14, 2026 - Online tests.
🚒September 30, 2026 - Role related tests / fitness test.
🚒October 7, 2026 - Interviews.

We will also be offering two Positive Action sessions.

These are open for individuals from underrepresented groups to allow us to support greater diversity by widening access and encouraging applications from those with different backgrounds and experiences.

🌺 REMEMBRANCE DAY 2026 – LEST WE FORGET 🌺

This year, we’d love to see even more of our Peterlee community come together to mark Remembrance Day — and we’d particularly like to encourage local youth groups, uniformed organisations and young people to get involved. ❤️

Whether you’re marching, taking part in the parade or simply joining us at the service, everyone is welcome as we come together to remember and pay our respects.

🕙 Meeting time: 10.00am

➡️ The parade will then make its way to St. Cuthbert’s Church, Manor Way, SR8 5QW.

Peterlee Town Council will follow the Royal British Legion's recommended Order of Wreath-Laying.

⚠️ Due to loose paving stones, the pedestrian gate down from the steps will be locked until further notice.

🚪 The main gates will remain open and access to the cemetery is still available.
🔧 Repairs will be carried out as soon as possible.
