Today, YMCA has grown to serve 65 million people across 120 countries.

Free Haircuts for Our Young Residents!

There will be free haircuts for YMCA Cornwall residents on Saturday 6th June, 2.00pm – 5.00pm in the Dance Studio.

A sincere thank you to our volunteer hairdresser for generously giving their time and skills to support our residents – it’s hugely appreciated.
Residents are invited to drop in for a free trim.

We’re over the moon to share that YMCA Cornwall has been awarded a £10,000 grant from Cornwall Council via the Cornwall Community Foundation.

This is the maximum available for non-partner organisations – a fantastic endorsement of our work.

The funding will support our Move On Bursary Fund, helping young people as they leave YMCA Cornwall and settle into their own homes. It will cover essential costs including rent support, travel for in-person visits, van hire for moving belongings, and providing basic furniture and white goods.

This support will make a real difference at a crucial stage in a young person’s journey.

Thank you to Cornwall Council and Cornwall Community Foundation for making this possible.

Are you our next Managing Director?

We’re looking for an experienced and inspiring leader to join YMCA Cornwall as our new Managing Director.

37.5 Hours per week
Salary Range: £60,000-£65,000 per annum, plus benefits
Location: Penzance, Cornwall

This is a unique opportunity to lead an organisation that supports young people aged 16–24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

You’ll be responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and day-to-day management of the charity, working closely with our Board to ensure we continue delivering high-quality services and real impact across Cornwall.

At YMCA Cornwall, we stand proudly with the LGBTQ+ community. We believe everyone deserves to feel safe, valued, and respected, always.

Did you know? Back in 1978, the song Y.M.C.A. by the Village People became a global anthem, celebrating the welcoming spirit of the YMCA and its importance as a safe, inclusive space, particularly during the San Francisco LGBTQ+ movement.
