Did you know? Longships Lighthouse has stood just off Land’s End for more than 150 years. 🌊

The first lighthouse was built on the rocks in 1795, but its low height meant the waves could completely obscure the light during storms.

The lighthouse we see today was built by Trinity House in 1875 and stands 35 metres high.

For over 100 years it was manned, meaning lighthouse keepers actually lived inside the tower, spending weeks at a time living and working out on the rocks.

It was finally automated in 1988, bringing an end to life at Longships for the keepers.

Why not come and explore Land’s End for yourself? Take a coastal walk, enjoy the views and discover the fascinating history of this iconic corner of Cornwall. 🌊🥾

🍂 Autumn adventures await at Land’s End! 🌊

On a clear day, you can see all the way to the Isles of Scilly from Land’s End… but did you know there’s a legend connecting the two?

Cornish folklore tells of The Lost Land of Lyonesse, a mythical kingdom said to have stretched from Land’s End to the Isles of Scilly. Legend has it that this enchanted land was home to 140 churches, villages and even a grand cathedral, before it was swallowed by the sea during one terrible stormy night. ⚡🌊

Only one man, Trevelyan, is said to have escaped, racing ahead of the mighty wave on his white horse. Some say that if you listen closely, you can still hear the church bells ringing beneath the waves… 🔔✨

💡 Fancy stepping into the legend this autumn? Our 15-hole immersive indoor golf experience, inspired by the tale of Lyonesse, is the perfect family adventure — whatever the weather! ⛳💙

From myths and legends to family fun and coastal adventures, there’s plenty to discover at Land’s End this autumn.

We can’t wait to welcome you! 🍂❤️

✨ Thank you, Summer 2026! ✨

The end of August marks the end of summer here at Land’s End, and what a summer it’s been! 🌊☀️

A huge thank you to everyone who visited us this summer — it’s been truly spectacular, and we’ve loved seeing so many of you making memories here at the westernmost point of mainland England. ❤️

We’ve been bringing Magic in the Skies to Land’s End for years, but this summer saw one of our biggest changes yet as we introduced our spectacular drone show alongside our fireworks. 🎆✨

Seeing the crowds clapping, cheering and celebrating at the end of each show has truly made all the hard work behind the scenes worthwhile. We’re so pleased that you enjoyed the new addition as much as we did!

And speaking of hard work, a massive thank you to our incredible team here at Land’s End. From our attractions and visitor centre to our hotel, shops, restaurants and grounds teams, you’ve all worked brilliantly throughout the busy summer months. 👏

We’d also like to say a huge thank you to our fantastic suppliers, Two Tigers Fireworks Ltd and Afterglow Drone Shows, for helping us deliver such a spectacular show this summer. 🎇

Summer may be coming to an end, but Land’s End is still open daily from 10am! There’s plenty more to explore, discover and enjoy. 🌿🐑🌊

Thank you for making Summer 2026 so special. ❤️
