As the year draws to a close and we look forward to the new year, we thought it would be good to share a few memories of the highs, lows and everything in between of our 2025
It’s been a record breaking year at Overton as we attended nearly 150 calls ranging from house fires, car fires, barn fires, thatch fires, chimney fires, fires in the open, horse and large animal rescues, road traffic collisions, standby moves to neighbouring stations, cardiac arrests and other medical calls, gaining entry and assisting our Ambulance service colleagues. We’ve had promotions, a 20 year service achievement and 3 of our crew went to whole time stations on fixed short term contracts. We said goodbye to Ff Pedro Teixeira after 6 years service and welcomed Ff James Pritchard thanks to a successful recruitment push. We attended several local playgroups, took part in community events like the Overton Wheelbarrow Race and the last Car Fest South parade. Our 10 year old truck was replaced with a brand new one complete with all the latest gear and we rounded the year off with some fun station awards presented by our Group manager.
The highs have far outweighed the lows and yes, it has been a busy year for us at Overton, but we’ll all be here to do it again next year so, on that note, we would like to wish each and every one of you a very Happy and Safe 2026
