The greenbelt boundaries referred to in the Conservative motion are around 80 years old and are not an accurate representation of today’s landscape.

There are many parts of the ‘greenbelt’ that are simply disused car parks and petrol stations, contrary to the perception of green belt land being entirely made up of beautiful parks and fields (which Reform would never build on.)

The Conservatives hugely exacerbated the current housing crisis by opening our borders to uncontrolled, mass immigration, letting nearly 1 million net in to the country in 2023.

In Alex’s speech, he specifically stated:

“You don’t want to see beautiful, accessible green spaces plastered with tower blocks- neither do we.”

The Tories, however, have characterised 100% of green belt land as ‘beautiful’ and ‘accessible’, when neither of these things are true.

Bromley Council has binned its controversial proposal to charge Blue Badge holders for parking in council-owned spaces.

Tory Councillor who backed the scheme admitted the U-turn was down to better-than-expected savings.

The U-Turn is more likely to do with not being a vote-winner, and charges could still be brought in if re-elected in 2026.
