In July’s mayoral election, Restore Britain took 4,381 votes — more than double the Conservatives, five times that of the Liberal Democrats.

Against Reform’s 10,723, we were approaching nearly half of their vote share. For a party not yet six months old, that’s an extraordinary start.

Meanwhile, the council chamber sits in gridlock.

The word “rudderless” has been used, often and loudly.

Labour refuse to work with Reform, whilst Reform themselves call for all-out elections. The Lib Dems barely even register (as usual) whilst the Tories are dead in the water. The other groups remain focused only on their own patches, with little sign of a wider plan for the borough.

Residents deserve better than a blocked council.

It’s time to get to work.

There will be 20 council seats being contested in the Oldham local elections next year, and we would like to stand in all of them.
