Our poster run finishes this week. But that doesn't mean the message changes.

We still need foster carers in Sandwell. There are children and young people in Sandwell who need a place of safety and deserve a second chance at childhood.

Can you help us?

Good to see The Fostering Network and BBC continuing to spread the word...

We were delighted to work with BBC Bitesize on this feature about becoming a foster parent for Caring Matters Week. 🙌

In the article, our Chief Executive Sarah Thomas answers some common questions those thinking about fostering might have, including:

• Who can become a foster carer
• How to take the first steps towards becoming a foster carer
• The type of training needed for prospective foster carers
• How long the process takes to become a foster carer

Caring Matters is a week long spotlight on caring across the BBC, shining a light on the different experiences of carers and the role they play in families and communities across the UK. 💡

It's been another hot one today - and our posters are looking good!

Which is a gentle reminder that even though Foster Care Fortnight is over, the message remains the same - we urgently need good people to step forward as foster carers in Sandwell.

The need for safe, loving homes for our children, many of whom have had a tough start in life is still there. So if you're thinking about, come and talk to us - anytime.

Thank-you to everyone who has contributed to our campaign. Everyone who spoke to us at our events, everyone who has 'liked' and 'shared' our posts on social media and everyone who's visited our website and got in touch with us.

We are always grateful to our amazing foster carers, but we must also say 'thank-you' to all the people that support us and help us to spread the word.

Every one of you who has contributed, is helping us to recruit the foster carers we need provide the homes where a child feels safe, cared for, and and can have a sense of belonging.

Foster Care Fortnight may be over for 2026, but our work continues. We still need good people to step forward and we still need people to support us in spreading the word.

And if you're thinking of fostering, when you're ready, we're ready www.fostersandwell.co.uk

"Nothing is more important than a place where a child feels safe, cared for, and that they truly belong. Together we can change lives."

That quote from Teo, our Director of Corporate Parenting and Practice, sums up why we all do what we do at Sandwell Children's Trust.

It's why our fostering team have been committed to , it's why we want to be out and about spreading the word. Which is why we're at the Rowley Regis Family Hub today (Friday 22nd) from 10am to 2pm for a Drop-In session.

If fostering has been on your mind, pop in and see us for a friendly chat anytime between 10am and 2pm today at the Rowley Regis Family Hub, Dudley Road, B65 8JY.
