Haltwhistle Community Fire Station

We have attended 2 separate small fires this afternoon in the vicinity of the Sheep Hills which were unfortunately started deliberately by youths, believed to be approx 12-13 years old (school year 8).
These small incidents can quickly spread into larger fires, which then ties up our fire appliances and can delay our response to any potential life threatening incidents.
Please have a word with your children and remind them of the dangers and consequences of deliberately setting fires. We can't be in two places at once and when it matters, every second counts!

We are hosting a further 'On-call firefighter' awareness session on Tues 5th May at 7pm. Please come along if you're interested in joining our team and making a difference in the community 🚒
Potential applicants 👨‍🚒must be 18 when the training course starts but there is no upper age limit as long as you meet the criteria and pass the medical!

Just a reminder that we have the first of our awareness sessions on Wed 22nd April at 7pm for anyone interested in joining the on-call team here at Haltwhistle Community Fire Station.
These sessions are aimed at those who want to find out more about joining, so if that's you or someone you know, then please make them aware!
Incidentally for any local businesses that may have an employee who is interested in joining but are worried about what this would mean to them as an employer - there are actually several benefits to your employee as they will learn new skills which can be beneficial outside of the fire service!

We are holding 2 awareness sessions for anyone interested in joining our on-call team at Haltwhistle Fire Station.

They will be held on Wed 22nd April & Wed 29th April at 7pm at the station on Park Road, NE49 9BW.

Evening all, we are holding an exercise at the former first school site on Woodhead Lane this evening, so please don't be alarmed if you see some fire appliances and fire crews while the exercise takes place. Realistic training is vital for our crews and this is a great opportunity for our crews to hone our skills.

We're back!
Now that the gas main replacement works are finished we have now moved our appliance back to the station! We were fortunate enough that Jobling Purser kindly allowed us to temporarily garage our appliance while these works were ongoing and we could maintain our business continuity!! Many thanks to Jobling Purser over the last few months for facilitating this!
