A true hidden gem! Registrar Julie snapped this photo before she conducted a wonderful wedding here in April. The blue skies and beautiful setting created the perfect backdrop for the couple's special day. She was recently delighted to receive a lovely thank-you card from the newlyweds ,

"Thank you very much for your help with the preparations, and officiating our wedding. It was a truly special day and you played a key role in making it so."

Such a thoughtful reminder of the privilege of being part of these cherished moments.

Recently, Shaureen had the pleasure of conducting a beautiful, fully personalised ceremony for a wonderful couple.

To conclude their special day, they incorporated a Love Letter /Wine Box Ceremony – a meaningful tradition where they sealed heartfelt letters to one another alongside a bottle of wine to be opened on a future anniversary.

It was a touching and memorable way to celebrate their commitment, adding another layer of meaning to an already personal ceremony. Proof that a Registrar led civil wedding ceremony can be so much more than a quick "I do" – it can tell a couple's unique story and reflect what matters most to them.

A glowing report for Coldstream Registrar Fiona following a lovely simple ceremony, with a poem picked by the couple and handfasting with a poem sent to them by a friend and the Apache Blessing at the end. There was even a special appearance from rescue dog Maya!

Branxholm Park House was the setting for a truly international wedding this month as Valentin and Sabrina celebrated their marriage.

Originally from Argentina and Hong Kong, this wonderful couple brought their love story all the way to Hawick for their special day.

Their ceremony beautifully embraced Scottish traditions, including both a handfasting and a quaich ceremony — creating a meaningful blend of cultures and family.

Making it even more special, both sets of parents were involved in the handfasting, symbolising the joining not only of two people, but two families

A truly memorable celebration of love, family, and tradition. Valentin emailed Shaureen to thank her,

Wedding paperwork is arriving daily at our registration offices, so please make sure you submit all the correct forms and supporting documents.

Please remember we cannot accept paperwork by email — documents and signed and completed forms must be submitted either by post or in person. In addition, current legislation requires all forms to contain a wet signature, not a digital one.

Walking up to a new venue before the guests arrive is such a special moment…but being the very first person to marry a couple there? That’s something truly memorable!

Last month Shaureen had that honour as she married Mr and Mrs Brady at Branxholme Castle Barns.
