We've just released dates for our free 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐢𝐝𝐞 sessions during the upcoming Easter holiday in 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥.

Learn to Ride is for children aged 5 and above who own a bike but can't yet pedal independently.

We're pleased to share that we'll be running two free Learn to Ride sessions during the upcoming Autumn half term holiday. Learn to Ride is for children aged 5 and above who own a bike but can't yet pedal independently.

𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞s: Thursday 2nd & Friday 3rd November
𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐞: Hadrian Leisure Centre, St Peter's Rd, Wallsend, Newcastle upon Tyne NE28 7LQ
𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟏: 10:30-11:30
𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐: 13:00-14:00

To book a place please email [email protected] with the following:

1. Your preferred date/time
2. Any other dates/times you can make in case your first option is fully booked
3. Name/age of your child
4. A contact number

Please note that places are limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis. Due to high demand, places are limited to one session per child.

Some handy tips from our team for helping your child learn to ride:

Remove stabilisers and have your child treat their bike like a balance bike. Half the battle of learning is coming to grips with the weight and feel of the bike, and this is better done without the aid of stabilisers.

Make sure they can put both feet on the ground and get them to 'scoot.' Removing pedals may also help. Once they can lift both feet off the ground and balance for a few seconds whilst travelling forwards, they are ready to try pedalling.

Try not to hold the bike or to help your child balance. Although it can be tempting, we find it is best to let them work out how to balance themselves.

Sometimes it can be helpful to give them a gentle push on the small of their back to help them gain momentum, particularly when setting off.
