Sunday Summary:
Faith in Humanity ☕️🌍
I wanted to share a quick story that will hopefully restore some faith in humanity.
On Monday, while I was having a coffee, an older lady unfortunately fell at the bottom of the Ironmarket. In a flash, a couple having coffee outside and another stranger jumped into action. They picked the lady up and got her to a bench.
But before she even sat down, one gentleman took his hoodie off and placed it on the bench so she wouldn't get a wet bum (whoever said chivalry was dead?!).
The coffee shop provided a warm cup of tea, the lady's son was contacted, and everyone stayed by her side until she was safely in his car. Bravo to everyone who stepped in to help—and to the lady helping, they really were nice boots!
The Reading Begins 📚
Health Forecasts
The ICB and its various trusts have released their 1-year and 5-year forecast reports. While this shift towards the Trusts representating themselves is very welcome—and will be incredibly useful for members holding the individual Trusts accountable this Monday—the reading itself was a bit repetitive. I feel like I've just read the exact same report four times over, just with the words moved around and in a different format!
Peak Cluster
I've also been diving into Peak Cluster—a highly ambitious project aiming to take CO₂ produced from cement manufacturing and pump it into an old gas field in the Irish Sea.
Obviously, that is a very simplified version of things! In reality, it is going to be incredibly complicated and will take many years to come to fruition (if it does). However, it makes for fascinating and vital reading for our region's future.
Apologies
Sorry no t-shirt this week straight to sunday dinner from work, and sorry I am only getting changed after a bath. Ive done 21,000 steps today at work 😅
As always, cheers everyone! Have a lovely evening. The work continues 🥂
