🚒 Enhanced safety for Suffolk communities

We’re pleased to announce another important milestone following the successful return of our Control Room to the county last year.

Alongside Fire & Rescue Service and Fire and Rescue Service, our Control Room is using Motorola Solutions' Guardian Hub technology to jointly manage emergency call handling, dispatch crews and coordinate incidents during periods of unusually high demand.

The hub – the first formal partnership of its kind in the UK between three fire control rooms – enables emergency calls to be seamlessly diverted to our partner services, ensuring we continue to respond quickly and effectively when our communities need us most.

Since bringing fire control back to Suffolk, we’ve already seen faster call handling, stronger links with our crews and preserved local knowledge. This new partnership builds on that progress by giving us immediate mutual support during major incidents and extreme weather events.

This allows us to maintain the benefits of having our control room back in‑county - local staff, local insight and local decision‑making - supported by a system that provides extra capacity when it’s needed.

Charging your devices overnight can be a fire hazard! 🔥

✅Use a safe surface - always charge on a hard, flat and stable surface which will allow heat to dissipate effectively

❌🔥❌Avoid soft surfaces - never charge on a bed, sofa or under your pillow. These can prevent heat from escaping and are easily combustible

✅Charge whilst you are awake and at home and make sure you unplug it once finished

✅Use the correct charger and if you need a replacement, buy a genuine, branded product from a trusted supplier. Cheap or counterfeits may lack the proper safety features

❌🔥❌Do not overload sockets or daisy chain extension leads - this can cause a significant fire hazard
